Freshman Brandon Johns notched a 22-point, 13-rebound double-double -- his tenth of the season -- to help the East Lansing boys basketball team defeat Lansing Eastern 57-42 on Friday.

Meguel Montes added 14 points to the win, while Mikhail Myles scored 12 points.

Dontre Garrett paced Lansing Eastern with 14 points and Perry Black scored 11 points, but it wasn't enough to keep pace without leading scorer Zeal McCullough on hand. East Lansing outscored Lansing Eastern 31-22 in the second half.

"Our guys competed, but there's just some instances where we have some mental breakdowns," Lansing Eastern coach Julius Edwards said. "We have to get better with our decision making."

East Lansing (7-6, 1-7 CAAC Blue) will play again Tuesday at Okemos.
