The Matchup: No. 2 Montverde (Montverde, Fla.) will travel to New Jersey to take on Roselle Catholic (Roselle, N.J.)  at 8:30 p.m. ET at Kean University (Union, N.J.).

Montverde player(s) to watch: Ben Simmons, the No. 1 overall player in the ESPN 100, is, quite possibly the toughest defensive assignment in the country. Simmons is the player you can only hope to contain, averaging 28 points and 13 rebounds a game this season. Simmons is signed to LSU and was recently named to the McDonald’s All American game.

Roselle Catholic player(s) to watch: Isaiah Briscoe, the top point guard in the ESPN 100, isn’t called “Must-See TV” for nothing; good luck trying to stop him when he gets it going. Briscoe, a Kentucky signee, is the engine for the Lions.

What to expect: Once upon a time, earlier this season, the Lions were a top three team in the Super 25, but after a few bad losses they found themselves on the outside looking in. Briscoe is amped for this game because he sees it as an opportunity to show that he and the Lions belong among the country’s most elite. Still, Simmons and the Eagles have no intentions of being made an example of.

It also is the start of a big weekend for both teams. Montverde will remain in New Jersey and take on St. Benedict’s on Saturday night at Kean. Roselle Catholic, which is just outside the Super 25, plays Our Center New American (Centereach, N.Y.) on Sunday on national television in Manhattan.
