UL's Shawn Long arrested by campus police
UL forward Shawn Long was arrested early Sunday morning by campus police for "entry on or remaining in places or on land after being forbidden."
The 6-foot-10 sophomore forward was arrested after 1 a.m. Sunday morning and was booked by Lafayette police. He was later released.
Long was just named to the Louisiana Sports Writers' Association's first team after winning the Freshman of the Year award last season. Long was a key part of the Ragin' Cajuns' run to the Sun Belt Conference tournament championship by averaging 18.7 points per game, 10.5 rebounds and 2.7 blocks.
The initial report obtained from the UL Police Department said that "the complainant advised of a large group of people congregating around UL Lafayette Trahan Hall. Officers had just left the area reference to an unauthorized party that had been disbursed."
After two officers arrived, Long was "booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for entry on or remaining places or land after being forbidden."
