UNLV Edges Northern Colorado

UNLV Rebels head coach Marvin Menzes directs his players during their NCAA basketball game against the Northern Colorado Bears Friday, December 22, 2017, at the Thomas & Mack Center. UNLV won the game 94-91 to move their record to 11-2.

UNLV received its second commitment from the Class of 2019 when Josh Pierre-Louis pledged on Sunday.

The New Jersey native was in town for an official visit to UNLV over the weekend and let the coaching staff know his intentions before jumping on a plane and heading back east.

Pierre-Louis also announced his commitment via social media:

Pierre-Louis, a 6-foot-2 guard, is rated as a 3-star prospect by Rivals.com. Some recruiting services list him as a point guard, while others project him as a shooting guard. His highlight video from the 2017-18 season showcases his ability to finish above the rim despite his size.

The Rebels now have two players on board for 2019, as the program also received a commitment from point guard Ethan Anderson in July. UNLV is set to graduate two seniors this season (Shakur Juiston, Kris Clyburn), and the coaching staff is still recruiting 2019 stars Jalen Hill, Christian Brown and Josh Green, so the scholarship situation still appears to be fluid.
