VIDEO: Derrick Jones completes Jordanesque free throw dunk in latest highlight escapade

Derrick Jones is headed to UNLV. At the rate he’s been earning headlines for his dunking prowess, he may very well have a full fledged fan club by the time he arrives in Las Vegas.

Jones, whose acrobatic exploits have been lauded here before, earned his latest headline turn by completing the ever-impressive, Michael Jordan-inspired feat of throwing down a slam from the free throw line. Not only did Jones complete the free throw line dunk, he did so with relative ease, soaring through the air while steadily elevating, as if on an escalator, almost to the point of the rim.

As good as the dunk was, particularly in slow-mo, the best part of this brief clip of a Las Vegas-session, came when future teammate Stephen Zimmerman offered the Philadelphia native an assist off the side of the backboard. No sooner than he put the ball off the frame than Zimmerman glanced up in sheer awe of Jones’ ability to elevate and maneuver in the air.

Remarkable. Absolutely remarkable.
