TOP GAMES

No. 1 Villa Angela-St. Joseph vs. MacDuffie School (Mass.)

This game will feature three players on last year's cleveland.com boys basketball All-Star team, as former North Royalton star Omari Spellman will be returning to Ohio to take on Carlton Bragg, Brian Parker and Villa Angela-St. Joseph.

The Vikings are probably the better team overall, but Spellman is developing his game for MacDuffie and those in Ohio will be eager to see how different of a player he is now.

No. 3 Central Catholic vs. 22 Feet Academy (S.C.)

Sunday has a loaded slate of top match ups, and it all gets started with this one. Tervell Beck and Antwon Lillard will try to give Central Catholic a much better showing after the team put out a lackluster performance against La Lumiere (Ind.) in last year's Dunk 4 Diabetes.

They will likely get a very tired team, as in a strange wrinkle to the schedule 22 Feet Academy will be asked to play the late game on Saturday and the early game on Sunday. It could affect the legs of senior guard JoJo Anderson.

No. 5 St. Edward vs. MacDuffie School (Mass.)

This will be the game most people want to see, as it features defending Division I state champion St. Edward against MacDuffie School and Spellman. The extra intrigue is because Spellman and North Royalton were the last team to beat the Eagles in the playoffs.

Kipper Nichols and Mike Ryan are among those still around from that game, and they will surely be motivated.

No. 7 St. Ignatius vs. Youngstown Ursuline

Of all the games played this weekend, this matchup seems most likely to come down to the final minute. St. Ignatius and Ursuline are both looking like state title contenders in Division I and Division III, respectively.

Keep an eye on guard Mike Hughes for Ursuline. If the Wildcats can't keep him in check, he could lead his team to another strong victory on Sunday.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

JoJo Anderson, G, 22 Feet Academy: The senior point guard holds five Division I offers, including Nebraska. He has 27 points against Shaker Heights this past Sunday.

Eli Blackledge, F, North Canton Hoover: The coach's son and freshman forward has been really coming on strong lately, as he has given his team size and scoring.

Carlton Bragg, F, Villa Angela-St. Joseph: The Kansas commit is having the best season of his high school career. He's scored 31 points three times this season.

Derek Culver, F, Warren G. Harding: The 6-foot-7 sophomore already holds an offer from West Virginia. He's one of the best players in the state of Ohio for the class of 2017.

Derrick Daniels, F, Dayton Thurgood Marshall: The junior forward holds a handful of Division I offers, including Iowa. He's a double-double waiting to happen.

Tyler Dunn, G, Massillon Jackson: The senior point guard and Walsh University commit is the engine that makes his team go in 2014-15.

Nolan Gerrity, C, Berea-Midpark: The UMBC commit stands nearly 7-feet tall and has a wingspan that makes any interior player uncomfortable.

Mitchell Herron, G, Tuscarawas Central Catholic: Herron is a strong 3-pointer shooter, as he hit 64 of his 143 attempts last season. He also shot over 76 percent from the free throw line.

Yahel Hill, G, Cleveland Heights: The freshman guard has been electric so far this season as he leads the team in scoring and has hit the 20-point mark on three separate occasions.

Kevin Hudson Jr., G, Cornerstone Christian: The senior guard is a Richmond Heights transfer and had back-to-back double-digit scoring performances against Brunswick and Bedford after sitting out 11 games.

Frankie Hughes, G, Garfield Heights: The sweet-shooting Hughes had scored at least 12 points in every game this season before a tough road test last Friday at Brunswick.

Mike Hughes, G, Youngstown Ursuline: The Wright State commit is back after missing three games this season. He's the team's leading scorer and the main reason Ursuline is a state title contender in Division III.

Antwon Lillard, G, Central Catholic: The senior wing is ending his high school career with a bang, as his scoring average is up from last season. He's scored at least 15 points in all but one game.

Kipper Nichols, F, St. Edward: Perhaps the top unsigned senior in Ohio, Nichols has picked up right where he left off from last season. He's the team's leading scorer so far.

Omari Spellman, F, MacDuffie School (Mass.): The North Royalton transfer is transitioning nicely to his new school. His interior moves coupled with his outside shooting have led to offers from schools like Ohio State, Kentucky, UConn, UCLA and Villanova.

Deven Stover, G, St. Ignatius: This deep Wildcats team has a lot of weapons but few can shoot it as well as Stover when he gets hot. The junior holds two Division I offers.

MaCio Teague, G, Cincinnati Walnut Hills: An electric scorer, Teague scored a school-record 51 points this past weekend. The senior is still uncommitted but holds offers from Akron and Seton Hall.

Jon Teske, C, Medina: The Michigan commit runs the floor well and plays good defense. He missed a triple-double by one block earlier this month.

LePear Toles, G, Canton Timken: The 6-foot-5 junior wing averaged 20.2 ppg last season and earned a spot on the Division I Northeast Inland All-District team.
