The recruiting ball keeps right on rolling for Louisville basketball and Chris Mack.

Class of 2019 forward Quinn Slazinski verbally committed to Louisville on Thursday night, Huntington Prep coach Arkell Bruce told the Courier Journal. Slazinski's commitment is the fifth pledge of the 2019 class for Louisville and fourth this month.

Slazinski, a three-star prospect out of Huntington Prep in West Virginia, told the Courier Journal on Thursday that he plans to redshirt the 2019-2020 season.

"I've decided that's best for me with my development," Slazinski wrote in a private message. "Louisville is a special place."

Mack and Louisville assistant coaches Mike Pegues and Dino Gaudio were at Huntington on Thursday to meet with Slazinski.

"They came down to my practice, talked to me for a little, and everything seemed to point towards the Ville," Slazinski wrote. "Love everything about the school."

Slazinski is scheduled to take an official visit to Louisville from Oct. 4-6, the same weekend the Cardinals' football team hosts Georgia Tech for a Friday night contest. He previously visited Louisville's campus for an unofficial visit — a one-day trip prospects must pay for, per NCAA rules — in August.

Slazinski, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound combo forward, averaged 11.1 points and 5.1 rebounds last season for Huntington Prep. The Houston native also averaged 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds on the Nike AAU circuit over the summer, playing for Virginia-based Boo Williams.

Mack has been steadily building his first recruiting class for the Cardinals. After guard Josh Nickelberry committed in May, Louisville was flooded with four more commitments in what turned out to be a huge September for the program's recruiting.

Friday kicks off another big recruiting weekend for Louisville as the program hosts top-50 big man Aidan Igiehon on an official visit. Along with Cards pledges Nickelberry and David Johnson, Igiehon will attend the "Louisville Live" event Friday night at 7 p.m. on Fourth Street Live.

The event will feature a dunk contest, 3-point contest and a fan shootaround with the women's basketball team. The final hour of the event will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra from 8-9 p.m. and is available for streaming through the WatchESPN app, Louisville announced Thursday.
