With West Virginia down 15 points to Duke in their national semifinal Saturday night in Indianapolis, Da'Sean Butler was just trying to get his team back in the game.
He drove left with the ball and went to go up for a shot against Duke's Brian Zoubek. When he planted his leg, Butler went down hard.
WVU coach Bob Huggins said after the game that it was just a sprain. But reports Sunday are that it is much worse.
Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog.com reported Sunday that Butler "suffered a torn ACL, minor MCL sprain and two bone bruises."
"That's what they think it is. They're reading the MRI," West Virginia coach Bob Huggins said Sunday, according to Zagoria. "They're going to call me when the doctor reads the MRI."
After the game Saturday, Butler said the injury "wasn't that big a deal."
