Former Ragin’ Cajuns point guard Elfrid Payton measured 6-foot-2½ without shoes, 6-3¾ with, and weighed 185.4 pounds at this week’s NBA Draft Combine in Chicago.

UL listed Payton at 6-3, 190 during his 2013-14 junior season, which ended with the Cajuns losing to Creighton in its opening NCAA Tournament game.

Payton has decided to leave school early and make himself eligible for next month’s NBA Draft.

According to a Basketball Insider report, Payton met with representatives of at least seven NBA teams Thursday: Atlanta, Cleveland, Minnesota, Oklahoma City, Orlando, San Antonio and Toronto.

The product of John Ehret High from Gretna is ranked as the draft’s No. 19 overall prospect, and as it No. 5 available point guard, by ESPN’s Chad Ford.
