With less than a month remaining before the 2014 NBA Draft, it's getting closer and closer to crunch time for bubble prospects like former University of Massachusetts point guard Chaz Williams who are looking to catch the attention of basketball decision makers.

Per an SNY report, Williams will have an opportunity to do so, as he is scheduled to work out for the Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday and the Boston Celtics on Monday.

Williams, who finished his UMass career as a three-time All-Atlantic 10 first-team selection and the program's all-time leader in assists, has spent the past two months training privately. In April, he participated in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, averaging 6.7 points and 6.3 assists in the annual event for college seniors.

Despite an illustrious collegiate career that was capped with the Minutemen's first NCAA tournament berth in 16 years, Williams faces an uphill battle in cracking the NBA. His less-than-ideal size (he's always been listed at 5-foot-9, but that's being very generous) is difficult to project against the world's best players – especially defensively – and makes him late second-round prospect, at best.

Still, Williams has made a lifetime out of proving doubters wrong. And it helps that Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge sat front row for what was perhaps Williams' most impressive single-game performance – a 31-point, 15-assist effort in a win over Ainge's alma mater BYU in Springfield.

Williams' lack of size and pedigree will be a difficult detriment to his draft stock to overcome, but at this point, all he can ask for his a shot. And now he's got two.
