JDB12ParticipantI have been a life-long fan from Minnesota and this is exciting! Towns, Wiggins, and LaVine have some of the highest ceilings the NBA has to offer. Having other young talent like Muhammed, Bennett, Rubio, Dieng, and Payne, the future is bright to say the least. I think everyone will agree that if they stay healthy and their young guns can reach their potential or even come near it, they will be a perennial playoff team and possible contender. However, I feel like they need to still make a couple of moves to get there. Since the day they drafted him, I’ve prayed that the Wolves would trade Rubio and that still holds true. I have never thought he is a starting point guard in this league unless he’s in the perfect system with the perfect set of players with him. Now I don’t think Jones is ready to start in this league, I feel he will be a solid starting point guard in the NBA, a Chauncee Billups type player. With the addition of Towns, Pek needs to be moved because there is not enough time to disperse between Towns, Pek, and Dieng and he has a big contract. I think they need to add an established, role playing power foward, someone like Tristan Thompson since he wants out of Cleveland, or Taj Gibson since the Bulls added Bobby Portis. This squad is definitely on the rise and I’m excited to see what the future brings! Having KG in the locker room for this young talented unit is going to do wonders as well. Someone who came into the league with a lot of hype and has been through it all will have a positive impact on team. I just wish he would be around long enough to see the influx of talent come into fruition with a playoff run.
