canadabasketballisrisingParticipantdefinitely between vassell and okoro…. they need more shooting with barrett, but no one expects the knicks to be good anyways so I take the risk and go with OKORO. Let him develop his shot and get a top pick next year…

bt102ParticipantThey need everything. A lot of things make sense for them. I’m actually going to go with Tyrese Haliburton here. I don’t like Okoro, and Vassell, we will see but I don’t think he develops in New York. Haliburton is already solid, can play the 2 if the Knicks ever get lucky in FA or someone with a PG. He’s a solid defender and was a really good shooter in college.

bt102ParticipantI’m changing my mind. Devin Vassell. I think the Knicks could go in about 174857118280983 different directions, but with Walt Perrin in charge, as a Jazz fan it absolutely sucks, but he makes the right call most of the time. And the more I thought about it I think Vassell will be the pick. I was looking into him in New York and I realized that he would find someway to work it out anyway. I know its a full 180 but Vassell.

NorrinRaddParticipantJust chiming in here on this topic… based on how this draft has gone down so far, I’d say Okoro for the same reasons canadabasketballrising mentioned.

OhCanada-ParticipantTyrese Haliburton. Personally not that big on Stanley John….Isaac Okoro. Looks like the Knicks are higher on Okoro and Cole Anthony but I’ll make my pick based on who I would select thank you very much.

armchairgmParticipantI am not big on Justin Anderso……..Isaac Okoro either. If Knicks go with a wing Vassell is a much better prospect in my eyes.

dmo21ParticipantSounds like NY wants to try PG again (if you fail, just keep trying!). Even though there’s quality wings (Vassell and Okoro) on the board, I think they go Haliburton. He’s probably the BPA, so it’s not a horrible choice. I just think NY is where point guards go to die.. But hopefully it works out for him!

RUDEBOY-ParticipantPoku .Knicks need a star via a trade or draft. That’s why I say go for another Unicorn in Poku. I think after Melo Ball he’s the biggest Risk Reward Player. Halliburton & Vassell could become solid rotation players. But I don’t see either becoming an multiple all star. Okoro is on a wait and see , he could be a bust like Stanley Johnson and Justise Winslow or develope into a productive starter like Metta World Peace.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantNot really sure what they do here. This is a franchise that has been cursed with terrible lottery luck and has managed to mostly screw up the picks they have made. This is a new front office that obviously wants to make a big splash with an impact player with this pick. However, at number 8 that will not be easy. It doesn’t really seem like they have the pieces to move up either.
Poku would be a huge gamble here. He just doesn’t have the frame to be nba ready right now and the New York fans and media will just eat him alive if he struggles out of the gate. Other than that, I just don’t see a really sexy pick here unless one of the higher end talents somehow slips. Guys like haliburton, Vassell and Okoro could all project as high end role players.
Knicks need a pg but I’m just not sold that haliburton is the answer. He projects more as a high end backup to me. Just doesn’t seem to have enough pop as a scorer to keep defenses honest and I’m also not convinced his shooting will translate. I’ll go with Vassell here, a guy who can finish plays and potentially defend at a high level to compliment Barrett’s more on the ball skillset.1+ -

bt102Participant5 Devin Vassell, 2 Isaac Okoro, 2 Tyrese Haliburton and 1 Aleksej Pokusevski (love this guy too)
Still have time to put in an answer.

OhCanada-ParticipantI’ve got a few issues with Pokusevski. Nows not the time though…I’ll save it.

bt102ParticipantI think it’s about time he gets in conversation. I really want to see him in Phoenix. If it works Phoenix would be terrifying. I don’t think James Jones would have the guts to do that, especially when he gets compared to Dragan Bender quite a bit.
