HitsterParticipantKeon Johnson – he can play at 2 or 3 and gives good defensive potential also a great athlete and a high character guy who going onto a team of title winners will be in a good situation. The Splash twins are now in their 30’s and so is Green so younger legs on the team will be huge help. He can play from the bench as an energy guy and he’ll get easy shots as an open man.
His 3 pointers need some work but he’s got possibly the greatest ever 3 point combo guards to mentor him.

bt102ParticipantJosh Giddey. He fits their team magnificently.

kerrstParticipantMitchell is the pick, although a trade consisting of Wiggins, Wiseman and their 2 first round picks could easily net them a great player and the ability to bring back Klay slowly for a postseason run.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI like Mitchell here. He’s a guy that should be ready to contribute immediately for a team that will look to contend next year. He fills a need as another ball-handler off the bench who can defend. And he can allow curry to play off the ball for stretches.

armchairgmParticipantThey aren’t even discussing anything though that would be a different thing. They are just commenting a name to vote after the fact and not voting on the current one.

bt102Participantman that’s hilarious. I’m fully expecting this draft to be a quite a bit of disputes the rest of the way probably good we got those 6 out of the way.

bt102Participantit’s not like its changing the result. It’s not like it matters too much though. i know it moves it down a bit but it doesn’t move it down on the home screen

armchairgmParticipantI’m just saying it’s fine to vote on those, but vote on most current one too. Some people are putting their pick on o es that are done and not even voting in current pick.

NorrinRaddParticipantwe still have a ways to go for people to think about it, but for what it’s worth I almost picked Giddey… Jalen Johnson I think makes slightly more sense if GSW selected him and then some other player to defend the perimeter at whomever is available pick 14.

OhCanada-ParticipantI’ve been thinking about changing my pick to Jalen Johnson but the way I see it is you gotta not only pick a player to compliment the vets but also a player to compliment the core young players and with Poole and Wiseman what piece do you add. To me its Giddey. Proven triple double threat in a physical and proven league. Understands the pro game already. Thats easy buckets for Wiseman because Giddey will feed off him. Golden State doesn’t look interested in development but they are kinda stuck in a position where they need to pick a player with upside and Giddey gives the best of both worlds, pro ready and alot of upside.
But then Jalen Johnson might be a top 5 talent in the draft he really didn’t get on in Duke, it would be interesting to see how he would perform at a school that catered to him. He has reported character issues. Would the situation have imploded without the support of a Duke or would he have had success? Golden State has not been an easy system for young players to fit into when everyones healthy. How will Jalen feel about playing 18 minutes per game as a rookie once GSW’s healthy aand how true are the immaturity rumors? Too many questions just pick Giddey.

klementimeParticipantWhy would you pick a guy who has yet to play any serious basketball if you’re GSW? I mean… they do want a guy who can contribute right away? If so then GSW should take a look at the “projected second round” and check of FIlip Petrusev.
The guy was the MVP of the adriatic league (the same league a Nikola Jokic came from), he played Euroleague teams, he played grown men… and not just played, he dominated.23,7 points on 58% shooting (62% from 2, 41% from 3), 74% FT, 7,6 rebounds in 31 minutes played. To me that’s much better than whatever a Deni Avdija did in his last EURO season. Petrusev would fit in perfectly. 6’11” that can run, rebound, shoot… I’m not sure what any of these other college guys can do but Petrusev proved himself and should at least be considered – moreso because GSW does not have time to wait and develop another Wiseman…. He’d fit in the startig 5 with Steph, Klay, Dray and Wiseman, but also could come off the bench to provide everything with the second unit.
Just to give you an idea.. the last season Jokic played the Adriatic league his AVGs were 19+11 rebounds.

armchairgmParticipantSo time limit has passed and with Norrin Radd saying he would go with Giddey to break tie looks like Josh Giddey is our winner.
