canadabasketballisrisingParticipantWatch a lot of bucks games, and it seems that 6’6-6’8′ guys who are really athletic bother Giannis more than guys more his size..
NO ONE will ever stop a talent that great, but with great transitional help, I dont get why more teams dont play a physically strong under sized player who can atleast stay with giannis until big help is there at the basket. Giannis’s post games opposed to his quickness is not as much of a threat.
Dont know how many people watched the world cup, but a 6’5 brazilian who has never played in the NBA, but quite strong really almost shut down Giannis this summer. Its not as dumb as the average fan thinks. Yes, Greece did not have the shooters that the bucks do, but a lot of it was 1 on 1 posting up and Giannis was NOT as effective.1+ -

The GoatParticipantHe could bully them backing down, live on the boards or at the line. He’s shooting better and will have a 6 inch height advantage, should be able to shoot over the top. The only answer at this point is to pack the paint, play long guys at all positions, force him to kick out, make the other guys beat you from 3.

festar35ParticipantWe used Malcolm Brogdon on him the other day & he did a fantastic job, in saying that though he is 6’5, 6’11 wingspan & a very strong/physical player.

canadabasketballisrisingParticipantHe’s going to be a mismatch either way, you’re going to have to give up quickness or size.. I wish more people saw Giannis this summer without shooters around him and a nobody locking him up

OhCanada-ParticipantToronto threw alot of stuff at him last year to slow him down. Mostly they ran a 3-2 zone with Kawhi as the initial defender with the intention of helping from both sides. They doubled everytime he tried to post up and this forced him to play a bit rushed.
Easy to say it worked when we had Kawhi, Siakam and Gasol to throw at him, to be fair most teams dont even have one defender as good as those three. Problem with this is it leads into alot of open jumpshots so the Bucks will only be as good as their role players. Also leads to a ton of offensive rebounds. It really only worked for Toronto because the Bucks roleplayers started missing wide open shots.

220ParticipantIf the Bucks had one more true star, then I’d believe more in the Bucks. When the pressure is on Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe have yet to prove they can consistently be counted on when the pressure is on.
