OhCanada-ParticipantHe is absolutely ruining a great UCLA/Oregon game with his endless ranting about nothing. What kind of drugs is this guy on seriously he just gets worse and worse.
Funniest thing is for the last 5 minutes he keeps trying to tell a story about his conversation with Lonzo Ball yet he cant seem to finish it because his co commentator is actually trying to do the play by play and keeps cutting him off due to such a fast paced exfiting game.
Almost gonna press mute.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantWell he is a huge Greatful Dead fan so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was walking around with a head full of acid for most of the 70’s and early 80’s.

Magic JordanParticipantIf you don’t like or can’t find the humor in Bill Walton, it’s not that there is something wrong with him. There is something wrong with you.

OhCanada-ParticipantIf it was a halftime show srtting pre or posrgame then yah. Buy when he is asking his co commentator how he would feel if Ike Anigbogu elbowed his daughter or son in the face then calls his kids out hy name or goes on one of his liquid g powered rants it gets to be a bit too much. At least guys like Dick Vitale keeps commenting on the game.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI have to admit that I used to really appreciate the humor Walton brought to the broadcast. However, it has gotten to the point where it’s just obnoxious now. He is clearly going out of his way to push the envelope as far as he can and it takes away from the actual game going on on the floor. If he wasn’t bill walton he would’ve been out of a job a long time ago.

Hype MachineI figure hes just mad baked on air these days.
I cant think of too many other on-air personalities that are routinely stoned live on TV.

holefillers1ParticipantI used to think he attracted the baby boomers to this younger faster paced game. Like maybe his humor is generational…Not the case, my parents think he is the biggest blow hard. If I had to give a player comparison for his commentating- Shrek, eating a hot air balloon.

Meditated StatesParticipantI have found him difficult to listen to. He sucks and always has sucked. He is in with the right people so he stays employed but he has always been horrible. I was scared the celtics were going to use him permanently at one time. I swear i would have muted everygame he did. He really should not do games on the grounds he ruins them.

Andrew1984ParticipantBill Walton is a caricature of himself; he knows that silliness and levity are his signature, so he overdoes it. But overdoing it is also part of his signature, so every broadcast reinforces the perception of himself that he has established. Plus, any network that employs his services knows exactly what it’s getting.
That being said, I actually love when the discussion the commentators are engaged in deviates miles from the game itself. I can see what’s taking place in the game. I don’t need their help to understand it. If I can simultaneously enjoy some frivolous banter about the minutiae of life (see Van Gundy-Breen-Jackson), well, that’s just gravy.

OhCanada-ParticipantFor all you guys saying find the humour in it your trippin. The dude is being serious hes not joking unless his idea of humour is making himself look luke an idiot. During the game he said UCLA should stop using on ball screens and start using pick and rolls. WTF?
His knowlede of the game and experience is not in question but but he needs to just call the game.
