Who if anybody in this draft are ready to start right away?
I think Steph Curry should be ready to go right away. I see him averaging 15 points, 4 assists, might not have great percentages. He isn’t a bad athlete, and I personally think he is the best pure basketball player in this draft as far as skill playing the game goes.

Ty Lawson has been running an NBA team essentially for 3 years now so my guess is he will be ready to go. What people forget about Lawson is how unbelievably efficient he is. Too lazy for numbers but his efficiencies and shooting % and assist to TO ratio is through the roof. People underestimate how much better teams with efficient point guards are than teams without them, just ask the Nuggs bout that one

One guy who depending where he goes I think could possibly get some starts is …dont throw stuff at me.. Hansbrough. Big men get hurt, and I know he isn’t huge or a freak athlete but servicable scrappy big men are a nice commodity for any team. People hate on him, but i dont see any reason why he can’t do about what Paculia, and Verejao and Haslem, or say a Kurt Thomas has done, and relatively soon. Im not saying he is an opening day starter for the Lakers, but Im saying he could get some starts next year, maybe via injury or trade.

I’m just curious, thats all. I see Lawson as more of a game changer as a point, but nothing to effective. I just don’t see Tyler doing much in the league. He has no post moves, he’s short, his arms are short, not very athletic, and he hasn’t really developed while at Carolina (only real move if you call it that- is that fling from the baseline). I see him as more of message sender in the league. A guy who will hustle and play hard and maybe get a few minutes to scrap. Also, he could the perfect guy to bring in when your starters are being lazy and you (coach) need to show them how they should play.

7. Eric Maynor PG- VCU- Believe that he can come in and spell a starter next year and pick up the slack if needed. Four year starters are nearly extinct. Has won big games (Duke 06). Solid heady player who makes the right plays and will defend out front somrething coaches love.

6. Hasheem Thabeet C- UCONN- You cant teach 7’3 that will get him on the floor. 7’3 is an instant impact in the paint. If Thabeet can stand in the paint for 20 minutes he will block 2 shots and grab 7 rebounds. His per 48 minute numbers will lead all rookies next year.

5. Terrance Williams SG/SF- UL- Mr. Versatility. I think that he can become a poor mans scottie pippen, better than John Salmons because of his handling and passing, but not Pippen because of his scoring will and just about evrything else Pip brought. He will be very good. Should be on a playoff team. Will be a major factor off someones bench. If he performs well may be in the lottery.

4. James Harden SG- ASU- Ready is how to describe him. If Thabeet somehow is gone and Harden is there they have to take him not a chance on a big they have cap money and can address that in the summer. Harden can step in and give them a sick 1,2,3 with Russell Westbrook, Harden, KD, throw in Jeff Green at the four and that is a very capable five. He can score now and also take the load off KD. They need ready guys not more young talent.

3. Blake Griffin PF- OU- I will probably hear this forever. Yes he will have the third most impact which is good but he is not a franchise changer. He will likely not go to Sacramento as the last team to win the lottery with the worst record was Cleveland. Lets say that a team like the Knicks end up with 1. Griffin will be looked to be a 20/10 guy. He will get a lot of dunks. I see him being a 13/6 guy as a rookie. He has no face up game. The fours on the next level will be just as athletic as he. He does not have an amazing wingspan like Blair that will counteract his length. Beasley dominated just the same in college, but because he had to improve his face up game it stunted his growth. Carlos Boozer without a face up game and less athletic.

2. Stephen Curry CG- DU- He will be an all star one day. Has the pedigree as his pop could flat out shoot on many Hornet teams. Whatever nuance he needs to know pop will school him. I see a better version of Monta Ellis as he can shoot it from anywhere. Ran the 1 this year and his ast/to ratio was stellar. Can drop dimes and score. He will be a 17/4 guy and shoot 43% from 3 and 90% from the line. Win a few shootouts and have a Hall of Fame type career. If I had the first pick I’m going he or my next pick.

1. Tyreke Evans PG- UM- Reke will be a star. He is a 6’6 point. Handle is nuts. Can score, is very long, steady demeanor, mentally tough and ready. In the NBA you miss big when you draft Bigs and they dont pan out. Griffin will probably be 1 but Reke should be. In the NCAA tourney looked like the only guy who could play right now in the Playoffs and not miss a beat. The UNC guys had each other. Reke looked like the Beasley, Rose, KD type. Explosive and he plays to win. The league is now about the lead guard. This guy is better than Derrick Rose at this point because of his more NBA ready skill set. Reke does not have the world class ups as Rose but at 6’6 wit hops, handle and heart will be this years franchise PG

i disagree completely on Evans and Curry. I think Curry is too small and without a position, but he doesnt have the freaky quickness to get away with that. i dont think he will be a starter anytime soon for those same reasons. for the right team he could have a lot of value though. My problem with your case for Evans is he will not be an NBA point guard. And he’s not quite talented enough to be a star at the wing position. He doesn’t have hops btw. Best of luck to both of them. I like the rest of your list.

cuz beasly and blake are light years ahead of where boozer ever was as a athlete. Beasly could get hurt and still be more athletic than boozer.

Lawson is a midget and isn’t a freak athlete. Hes a good pg but hes a career backup in the nba.

Hansbourgh will ONLY have a good career if he latches onto a contender. If he goes lotta (which he wont) his expectations will be so overrated he’ll be a bust from day one. But on a contender he’ll just be your average role player who can hustle and get boards. Like him beside dwight howard would would work, but not the spurs cuz they need more athletes. so he as to end up in the perfect situation.

and evans? your wayyyyyyy overrating him. he won’t play pg in the league. And hes not better than rose and i don’t even thikn hes a franchise player. You make it like hes OJ mayo or something

Odd situation, its hard to gauge how ready he is. His team was horrible, and he was literally double teamed an entire game (picked up at half court). Thats how bad his team was. He does have good vision and is a solid passer, but he’s hard to judge because of his teams play. I don’t think many people are selling him short.

Blake Griffin is a different type of animal than Carlos Boozer and Beasley. First, hes a way better athlete than Boozer and Beasley. Next, he is really 6’10” unlike beasley. He reminds me of Amare more than anybody else. Amare didnt have any face up game when he first went to the league now he has a nice midrange shot. I like Reke but hes no Rose. Rose is a top level athlete and there arent many players who can stay in front of him (if any). My list would start with Griffin, Earl Clark, Harden, Evans…idk the rest, this draft is weak but I think the pg class is underrated

Beasly just doesn’t dunk as much anymore cuz his exact words “it takes too much out my legs during the games” meanwhile if you watch him in high school, specially the mcdonalds all american dunk contest, he can do any dunk griffin does. Both won their years.

1. Terrence Williams will prob get around 9 ppg, 6 rpg, 5 apg, 1.5 spg his defense, passing and maturity will help a team system get better. More athletic Battier

2. Blake Griffin will prob get around 16 ppg and 9.5 rpg. He has a nose for the ball and toughness. Lets just see if he can stay healthy. Bigger, more athletic Millsap who will get more touches

3. James Harden will prob go to a team that needs help on O so he’ll throw up 13 ppg but not much else in stats, maybe 3 and 3. He has a killer instinct though so picture Roger Mason with poise

4. Wayne Ellington. Think this years Courtney Lee. 12 ppg, 4 apg, 3 rpg

5. Tyreke Evans is too good a scorer to be held down especially by a PG. 14 ppg, 4.5 apg, 3.5 rpg. Reach in fouls on faster PG’s will kill him though and limit his playing time. He has a long step around the hoop that helps get a shot off and makes up for average athleticism much like Ginobili

6. Tyler Smith is a player like Terrence Williams that can do everything good. Good NBA coaching and leadership will help him rebound from a poor year at Tenn. Will emerge similar to Josh Howard

Curry will be overwhelmed by the athleticism in the NBA and Thabeet is still too raw on offense to get any kind of substantial minutes

James Johnson is read to contribute. He is very skilled and polished. JJ has great jump shot who stands at 6’9 and can spread the floor, which benefits teams greatly. JJ is also very athletic and he is ready to step up and play right away.

I don’t think Rubio will provide instant impact. He has a long way to be ready…and he will be schooled by most of the veteran PG’s of the league.

Maybe in 4 years time he’ll be an AllStar (remember he’s just 18 and turns 19 this year), but at this point, even playing 40 mpg, he won’t score more than 10 ppg. Assist and steals could make him a fan favourite, but he’s far from being a threat when shooting. VERY far.
