 Hey Ya’ll the draft order is in and I wanted to do this early this year (I’ve been doing this the past 2-3 years.) So Heres the fantasy question. if your franchise had the top 2 picks in the draft, who would you pick? Me, I’d say Nba draft for it right and I’d choose Zion  and Ja. PG and Big men comboes are always good.

 saying that when I’m drafting top 5- I want a physical freak (height, jumping, quickness, straight speed, wingspan, some quality that marks them as way above normal for NBA standards). They have higher ceilings and elite athleticism covers for many learning growth mistakes.

Using this as my main factor, along with common sense (Taco Falls is a physical freak with height, but I’m not taking him top 2) I’d have to go w/ Zion and Ja.

If I’m later in the draft 6-18 range- Jaxon Hayes and Bol Bol fit.

 Ja Morant and Tacko Fall.  

I have him 2nd on my internal big board.  I have Ja Morant 3.  I have Bol Bol at 1, although his "prime" might be too short.  

Zion is a freak of nature.  Love the guy — but how do you build around him?  If AD doesn’t stay (although I think Zion/AD is a good of a big man combo/fit that you can get) then I hope the Pelicans can get Darius Garland to stretch the defense and fire away from 23 feet.

Darius Bazley/Bol Bol would be fun, too.

We’ve all seen the limitations of the super big in today’s NBA (like Boban Marjanovic – offensively very good, but defensive liability for stretch 5’s). What makes you think Tacko Fall will be any different?

 1 mobile shot blocking big, 2 shooters, and a quality PG with good decision making.

Play him partly like Carmelo (elbow and short corner post ups where he can just turn dribble 1-2 times and jump) and partly like Blake Griffin (pick and roll with a good PG to open up lobs to the basket and pick and pop open jumpshots).

Play him at the 4 ,technically, but bonus points if you can get a strong defensive wing like Porter/Roberson to guard 4s for stretches and save his legs from the post play.

Am I forced to draft or can I trade the picks? It’s one thing getting the best player but another making the right pick. You have to get a feel of the whole scenario the market presents to make the overall right pick. It’s a combination of talent, market value based on selling tickets, meeting expectations of your fan base and asset value. For that, it’s a no brainer – Zion goes 1. I would maximise that value by trading down for Bol Bol and getting another great couple of assets. Zion to me is still not a sure thing, at times giving me the Rodney Rogers/Harold Miner vibe, or a more recent comparison would be Julius Randle/Anthony Bennett. He’s fun to watch and could be something near Charles Barkley but I’ll wait and watch, hoping for him. I’m not believing it now. I think Bol Bol is an all star level talent and you could get even more really good assets back in a deal. With the #2 pick, no brainer, Morant looks the goods.

I think ALL centers now are part-time centers. You have to have a big man bullpen now.

And I would rather have part-time Olajuwon (Tacko) over part-time Ralph Sampson (Bol Bol).

Not sure if I’d take Zion. Except for Outrage from the fans and colleagues…a riot would ensue, and I’d be fired. So I’d take Zion, I guess. And pray he stays healthy in Portland with our luck. Ideally I’d trade the second  pick for Bol and one of either Culver, or Keldon Johnson.

 This would be sort of easy:

Zion with number 1 as we have no legit PF at all.

Number 2 though is a hard call though: Can I trade T-ferg the 2nd Pick and a future first to the knicks for Knox and the number 3 pick? If so I would draft R.J barret with the Third pick if still there. I don’t know if I would take Ja morant as he is sort of similar to Westbrook in terms of playstyle and would probably be behind Schroder at this point IMO.. This trade would get me two needs vs 1…If I couldn’t do this trade I probaly take Barret as he could hopefully play a Jamal murray like game which could help with spacing or the Best available SG if there is one better than Barret as I didn’t really follow College ball this season.

 I’ll take Zion #1 and Ja #2. Warriors need depth behind Green and Curry..

 We started Canaan, Tyler Johnson, Okobo, Melton at the point, but booker was the point, we also played Jamal Crawford and Jawun Evans here.

2nd assist man was Tyler Johnson at 4,2, but he only played 13 games, he’s not a PG and a career 2,5 assists man.

At the PF position we started Ariza, Ryan Anderson, Dragan Bender, Tj Warren and Kelly Oubré, we also played Josh Jackson and Quincy Acy here.

2nd rebounder was Ariza at 5,6 per game, he only played a third of the season.

Both Zion(scoring, FTA, rebounding, passing, weakside shot blocking) and Ja(playmaking, FTA, all around game) were great fits for Booker, Ayton, the team….

Now with the 2nd worst record, we’d be lucky to select an injured Garland at 6( and i firmly believe the lakers will select and trade him, since he’s the only player in the top 10 outside of the top 3 worth trading up).

I love this game.
