XYRYXParticipantIt is reported that Green just signed an extension beginning 2020 for 4 years and 100 million which makes his current deal a 5 year 118 million contract.
Is this a good or a bad deal for all parties involved? I think it’s pretty reasonable for what he offers to the team even if his offensive output is steadily declining. Kind of interesting to see that the old core is staying put and that they don’t really want to end this thing.
The deal itself is a little bit risky for the Warriors if he doesn’t stay in form but around 25 million per for a DPY kind of player even in his 30s this is reasonable money and still tradable.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantGreen would have probably gotten a bigger deal if he played out the season and entered free agency next summer, but he opted for long-term financial security instead. Anytime you give an aging player a contract of this length, there is some potential for it to age poorly. However, getting him to agree to an extension for less than he could’ve gotten in free agency has to be considered a massive win for the warriors. This signals that they are fully committed to their core group of players for the foreseeable future, and have no plans on rebuilding.

HitsterParticipantI think this is an excellent deal for the Warriors, Draymond didn’t quite play to his previous level last season but was still in the All NBA 2nd Defensive Team. Other guys with his resume have got super max deals so he has left a fair bit of money on the table to stay with GSW.
If he stays sound then I don’t think his game should decline that much as he gets older as the new deal takes him into his mid 30’s plus it keeps the Steph, Klay and Draymond trio together.
