I’d just go with Jason Kidd since they liked him so much in the interviews. Don’t keep trying to please Lebron so much. He may be their best player and number one option but at the end of the day he is still just a player. Normal NBA players don’t get a say in who their coach is. Not even ifvyiur a superstar like Lebron you just deal with what you’ve got. That’s not what happened in Miami. Lebron didn’t force Eric Spoelstra out. Pat Riley just told Lebron to deal with it. So Lakers brass just needs to Lebron out of the equation, interview both Kidd, Juwan Howard and the three new candidates and Lebron to just play your game and let Rob Pelinka, Kurt Rambis and Jeanie Buss decide who the coach is. 

If he wants to have that much of a say then go about it the old fashioned way, you know retire, become a head of B-ball operations or a GM and then hire your own coach. He does have a good mind for forming a team but you are not supposed to that as a player you just play the game and leave everything else to whoever is in charge of it.

This is the main reason why I hate Lebron. He always has to have his way whether it be who his coach or who his teammates are, he never leaves it up to who is in charge of those things.

 Ty Lue wanted a 5 year contract, Lakers offered him 3 that’s why he rejected it.

I’m questioning everything at this point. Do they have a plan at all?

I thought they wanted Williams, but he picked the Suns. They probably thought they had Williams and interviewed Lue to make LeBron think they were taking his feelings seriously. Backfire. So, now they don’t really want Lue, so they say it’s about pay and contract length. I’m guessing… 

It’s hard to know what the heck they’re doing. Stephen Smith thinks some in “Hollywood types” are pushing Jeanie Buss to trade LeBron. Sounds unlikely. Is the trick to make LeBron want to leave by getting him to think the front office is too inept to make any deals? Because if it is, it’s working with more than just LeBron.

The lakers offer to lue was insulting and I don’t blame him one bit for turning it down. Kurt Rambis has no official role with the team and should not be involved in any way in the decision making process. Pelinka hasn’t shown he has the communication skills to run a franchise. Phil Jackson is even apparently chiming in with his opinion. They need to get the front office straightened out and bring in a seasoned and experienced executive without connections to the buss family to run things before they deal with the coaching search. Who would really want to coach this team with all the dysfunction in the front office?

 Thibs, David Jaegar or Vangundy’s are the best names still left on the market IMO…

I see why they are enamoured with Kidd though-Lonzo ball is their future player so why not have him help with Balls Development?As that is who people believe is Balls ceiling.

Jaegar is quite solid at player development, seems to have most teams trending upwards before being fired/leaving teams and has some interesting ideas. The only concern is why does he always wear out welcome with F.O’s

Thibs is really really good at player development, the only issue is his rotations need to be a little longer so players aren’t so gased come playoffs…It did look like he was trying to minute manage his stars a little better than in the past with Minny so give him props for that.As Chicago Thibs would have given high 30’s regardless of score lol. The thing with Thibs though is you would need to have an offensive lead assistant coach to help out a little more though.

The Van Gundy’s the only risk though is would Lebron handle a Stan van style of coaching…Jeff has some great knowledge and has coached some of the greats so could maybe have Lebrons respect…

As for list of Hollins,Woodson,Kidd and Vogel as HC that is slightly worrying as none of  them have exactly gone far in the Playoffs…

 Vogel got to the Conference Finals and the only reason he didn’t go farther would be on his roster if he took the job.

LeBron’s reign in the East got a lot of good coaches fired: Vogel, Thibodeau, Budenholzer, Rivers, and Casey. Seemingly, all their teams figured that it was the coach who made it so that LeBron was always the best player on the floor.

I’d go with Frank Vogel. Keep Brian Shaw on staff. Add Jason Kidd. 

Vogel and Shaw had a lot of success with the Pacers during their best years. Jason Kidd can mentor Lonzo, plus he has a great relationship with LeBron.

only offering lue 3 years when its became pretty standard coaches get a 5 year deal shows what a joke the ladrama lakers have become. buss will never get away from allowing people with lakers ties to make descions. rambis was like 99 games below 500 as coach but rumors are they wanted him as a lead assitant as well smh.

 I agree that if they are that keen on Kidd then just give him the HC role. But Brooklyn were happy to let Kidd go and the Bucks got shut of him when results weren’t the worse so did he lose the locker room or might be a coach because he played to such a high level, he gets frustrated with players who aren’t as good as he was.

Thibs would be a good choice IMO, he would want a win now roster and wouldn’t stand any nonsense and could get the likes of Rondo if he returns really dialled in. I think LBJ would like the work ethic that Thibs depends of his guys on both offence and defence but would be wear out LBJ totally.
