Eh, I’m not doing that deal if I’m Boston. Millsap is a good player, but Rondo is just too valuable to Boston. And who knows if Devin Harris can regain his mojo from a few years ago.

i would never trade rondo for devin harris. also, millsap is another undersized big man  and boston already has one (bass)..

This will never happen. Rondo is so valuable to the Celtics organization now and in the future. Trading him for Devin Harris makes zero sense. A huge stepdown if it goes through.

Spanoulis went back to Greece while Scola went on to establish himself as one of the best power forwards in the game. The second round pick turned into Nando De Colo, who signed with the Spurs this offseason. He’s their only hope to ease the regrets over trading Scola, which made Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich so angry that he said it made him want to spit shortly after.

Serge Ibaka – Pick originally owned by the Phoenix Suns
There’s a long list of moves that the Suns made as a means to cut costs that played a major role in their championship window closing. A 2007 trade that sent Kurt Thomas, a 2008 first-round pick, and a 2010 first-round pick to Oklahoma City for basically nothing (Emir Preldzic, who never made the jump and a $9 million trade exception that went unused) has a firm spot on that list.

In a deal during the 2010 offseason, the Bucks paired up Darnell Jackson with a second-round pick for Jon Brockman. Brockman averaged just over one point and two rebounds a game during his time with Milwaukee, while Thomas went on to prove just about the entire league wrong during his stellar rookie campaign.

That pick turned into Lillard, who was the Co-MVP of the Las Vegas Summer League. In the end both teams got what they wanted; Portland gets their future point while the trade helped Brooklyn eventually lock of theirs of the present. Even if Lillard goes on to become a top-five point guard in the league, it’s a reasonable price to pay to help keep Williams.

If Noel can add some weight, gain some proficiency on the low block with a couple of offensive moves, and answer the intensity questions – he’s the top prospect in 2013.

Cody could have been a top-10 pick in 2012, but he opted for another season with the Hoosiers.

He is big and physical; when he wants to mix it up in the paint he is very good. If he can show that same aggressive style for Baylor this season he’ll make things interesting at the top of the draft

“I learned by being mature, by having to grow up, that the only way I can get past it (injury) is playing through it and doing the best I can. I’ve done my part getting the surgery I needed. I just need to rehabilitate to the best of my ability and go out there and have fun,” added Henry.

The Ties That Bind:  It is amusing how much negative press former Magic star Dwight Howard is getting over what was a genuine gesture this weekend. Howard took out a full page ad thanking the city of Orlando for all that they gave him and in return he’s been blasted for it.

To believe that because a player is on the roster today means he owes something to the team that holds his rights is not only naive, it’s downright foolish.

Will Barton – The Blazers got a great performance out of Lillard’s teammate, rookie Will Barton, who had 21 points on 8-11 shooting to go with nine rebounds.  Barton, at 6’6″, started at small forward and showed that the Blazers have drafted some talent (along with big-man Meyers Leonard).

Leon Powe – The former Boston Celtics (and NBA champion) Leon Powe played just over 11 minutes and scored a single point with the Chicago Bulls in their 66-57 loss to the Golden State Warriors.  Powe missed all three of his shots and collected just one rebound.  Leon has been trying to work his way back into the NBA after a devastating knee injury.

Marcus Thornton – Pick originally owned by the Indiana Pacers
Over the last couple of seasons the Indiana Pacers have been searching for a guard who can create his own shots and provide instant offense off of the bench. Unfortunately for them, they owned a pick that turned into Marcus Thornton, who fits that description perfectly. In 2007 they traded the 2009 second rounder that eventually became Thornton to the HEAT for the draft rights to Stanko Barac, who never played in the NBA.

Isaiah Thomas – Pick originally owned by the Chicago Bulls
There probably won’t ever be a case of a team regretting losing the 60th overall pick more than this one. The Bucks originally received the pick from the Bulls in a multiplayer trade that included Hakim Warrick, Joe Alexander and multiple picks. The 2011 second-rounder that was included turned out to be the steal of the draft: Isaiah Thomas, but the Bucks gave it up long before the selection was even made.

This offseason, Wizards general manager Ernie Grunfeld discussed the possibility of Evans joining Washington’s front office, but the veteran wasn’t ready to retire and move into the next chapter of his life. The Wizards weren’t interested in bringing back Evans as a player so the two sides parted ways.u56y75

“In the meantime, I have enjoyed working more closely with Mr. Hunter and the rest of the staff to improve our union and help it to work towards becoming the strongest union in sports,” Evans said. “We are updating our agent regulations, our by-laws and our player programs. We are planning to cut into the deficit that is plaguing our players by way of bankruptcy, divorce, drugs and lack of transitional skills upon leaving game. This is very exciting, especially as the business review winds down and all of the negative energy associated with it is cast aside.”ytur

“Mr. Hunter has been a tremendous help to me personally as a mentor while being on the executive committee,” Evans said. “More importantly our players should be thankful for him and our union for the job they have done throughout his tenure, especially with limited resources as it compared to the NBA.”t3453
