GronounoursParticipant"I said it from the beginning that the raps would get whooped by the Bucks and got negged. In fact, if Embiid was healthy the whole past round, Raps wouldn’t have advanced. This Bucks team is scary as hell. Gasol looks washed. Siakam petrified. Kawhi gassed. This ends in 4 or 5. The fact that the raps played so well in game 1 and the Bucks started so damn slow made it a close game, but make no mistake, the Bucks are a far better and deeper team on all fronts."
Wouldn’t the world be a better place if people stopped thinking they know what they don’t? If they realized that "being proven right" is sometimes just a happy coincidence, and that in fact they knew nothing all along?

ChoppyParticipantNot necessarily. I like posters that have bold opinions. So long as they’re not too outlandish. I’ve made statements on here that I’ve 100% believed to be true, but were insanely wrong. It’s boring when everyone thinks the same.
What Halfdecayed said is just his opinion. You can disagree. Maybe he does too now? Who knows. But I want him and others to keep posting. I love this forum.

OhCanada-ParticipantExactly. You shouldnt be on here trying to be right all the time. Just flow and share your opinions. I like half’s direct opinions because thats exactly how half felt about it.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI remember that post and I remember responding to it by saying gasol couldn’t be effective in this series and the raptors should consider benching him. Turns out that was a bit premature as well. Point is I’ve said things plenty of times on this forum that wind up looking pretty bad in hindsight, as have most of the regular users on this forum I would venture to guess. But I don’t regret saying it. It was just my opinion at the time and I’m not going to stop sharing my opinions on this forum, as I believe that’s the entire purpose of it.

GronounoursParticipantThere’s a big difference between voicing one’s opinion, on the one hand, and claiming you ‘know’ what’s going to happen and ‘I told you so’, on the other hand. People who think they are smarter than they really are and know things they don’t know are a nuisance. But that’s just my opinion!

halfdecayedParticipantPoor little man, you didn’t even respond in the original post, so I guess you didn’t have an opinion back then or you simply agreed with me that it’s what it looked like after 2 games.
Putting Kawhi on Giannis was a damn good adjustment, he’s locking him down. Gasol still looks washed lmao and Siakam is scoring 14 pts per game on around 40 % shooting so my take on this still stands, although he stepped up on the defensive end. I still think the Bucks are the deeper team, but it doesn’t necesseraly means that every role player will step up in key moments in the playoffs. If you can’t stand people making bold statements you must be a sad little human being IRL and your post history simply speaks for itself as far as knowledge of the game goes.
By the way, I am canadian and actually happy to be wrong so I ain’t bothered. Imma hold my L and you hold yours now, oh wait you didn’t actually have an opinion.

GronounoursParticipantYou like to brag about your own bold statements when they turn out to be correct, but hate to be reminded of them when they turn out to be wrong. But I’m the ‘poor little man’, sure.
‘you didn’t have an opinion back then […] oh wait you didn’t actually have an opinion.’
You seem to believe that having an opinion, however unfounded, and expressing it with absolute certitude is per se something to be proud of, but it’s not.
‘your post history simply speaks for itself as far as knowledge of the game goes’
What does this have to do with your misplaced confidence in your own judgment?

halfdecayedParticipantLike I said, I don’t hate that I was wrong, I said it, I ain’t mad at all that the Raps are winning right now lmao, 75 % of games shown out here are Raps game.
¨You like to brag about your own bold statements¨, yeah you are kinda generalizing here little buddy, give me 5 examples of that in my post history, you’ll see you’re wrong.

SwatLakeCityParticipantJust because someone didn’t comment on your original post doesn’t mean they dont have an opinion. Not all opinions are voiced. You have no idea who negged you in that original post, you just know that you got negged. A neg is still an opinion it just isn’t voiced, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. You may be accepting you were wrong and are not upset that Raptors are winning the series, but that does not mean that you have to bash everyone else for pointing out that you were wrong. Personally, I believe that what you have done discredits who you are and still shows that you are not willing to accept defeat.

halfdecayedParticipantwtf are you talking about ? I am bashing everyone else ? Who ? You have to be trolling

SwatLakeCityParticipantI’m not trolling. I’m just saying that he does have an opinion and you should recognize that. Here’s my opinion. I think your original statement was way off and it showed a lack of respect for who the Raptors are. (Which is ironic considering you are from Canada) The playoffs are about adjustments and how you play the series. What happened in the regular season has no weight in the playoffs. You were basically saying the Raptors would get swept, and not make adjustments which goes against what they have done the entire season. So what you showed was a total lack of respect for your hometown team. Now I don’t think you should regret what you said, just own up and admit you were wrong but you failed to do that. Do I think this series is over now that the Raptors have won 3 straight, no I think it’s far from over. Both teams will continue to make adjustments just as they have done all season long. Neither team would have gotten here without making adjustments so why would they stop now? Game 6 will be very hard fought. No team is throwing in the towel. Don’t know who will win, but I do know that it will be hard fought and the better team will win. The Raptors have risen to the Kawhi level and what you originally said showed a lack of respect for that, which is really pretty sad considering they are your hometown team.

OhCanada-ParticipantI personally think there was nothing wrong with halfdecay’s way of sharing an opinion. I especially enjoyed the part where half let off a bit early lol. This is sports, come on. No need to be politically correct. If your wrong then your wrong if your right your right but dont sugarcoat it just say how you feel.
I thought the 76ers were gonna get trampled in that series and I was dead wrong but I feel no way about it.

BogDon_KryptParticipantThats very debatable OklahomaCitySuperChronics. I’m the first one on this website to point out that Bogdon can flat out Bogdan and Bojan straight up Bogdan
