CU.LIONSParticipantBaring a major unforseen trade, the top 3 picks should be Zion, Morant and RJ. Having said that, and the Pels are now on the clock at pick #4. Who should/will they take??
They do need a Big.
Also, do they trade Lonzo for a high draft pick, since Lonzo/Lavar may not want to play in NO.
thoughts ??

festar35ParticipantThey need a C.
I say trade with Atlanta to have a shot at Hayes, Kabengele or Fernando with 8th or 10th pick.
Other options is throw out the 4th pick to acquire a C. Possible targets are Turner, Sabonis or Bamba. Turner & Bamba both offer 3 & D potential, Turner is more established. Sabonis offers some nice playmaking from the C spot & next to a freak athlete like Williamson could be a decent fit.

The GoatParticipantI hope the Pels have some other plans. They have a potentially very good backcourt defensively but I’m just not a big fan of this lineup as a whole.
Ball Holiday Ingram Williamson Okafor
Payton Hart Moore Randle #4

220ParticipantDo you think Jrue Holiday stays? I have to imagine he’d be uninterested in a rebuild and would likely be dealt as soon as draft night. They should probably get at least some solid assets in return for him as well.

Memphis MadnessParticipantNOP looks fun on paper but that team might have worse spacing than last year’s Duke squad.

Memphis MadnessParticipantNic Claxton is a super interesting player. I might be the only person in the basketball universe who has him in the top 5 but he would help a lot. That teams lack shooting and unless they go with Bol or Garland, I don’t see where they get extra shooting.
Bol would give the Pelicans a center, another scorer, and probably the best shooter on the team from day one. Ironically, Bol’s dad played with Charles Barkley.

The GoatParticipantHow is that ironic?
NIC Claxton shut down workouts outside the lottery so I think he has a promise, maybe Boston at 14.

kobyzParticipantRumor is Atlanta at #17, they love his potential to become for them a defensive playmaking big, kinda their Draymond Green…

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThe Washington, Atlanta, Minnesota, Charlotte run makes all the sense in the world for Claxton.

holefillers1ParticipantIf I am NO I take Garland. He has high upside and can contribute as a scorer off the bench. By the time Jrue is outta there Garland is your man to take over. This line up needs more scorers. Also. No way I am sliding back 6-8 spots in an NBA draft for just picks. Select the best player available on your board at four and sign FA as needed

kobyzParticipantso you trade Ball? i don’t think Garland and Ball in the same backcourt work…

holefillers1ParticipantYou gotta go with whoever is better. But at four you take best available player. Lonzo Ball is no all star. Jrue Holiday is borderline all star. Pels need to be star hunting with this pick because the just traded a top five player in the league.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantSo in regards to Ball. Alvin gentry has apparently been on record saying he likes the look of a Ball Holiday backcourt and that they would probably give him about 35 mins per game sort of feel. This may appeal to Ball if all he is about is hooping. I think their organisation is very high on him and that he was the Main piece of this trade so the likelihood that they trade him is slim.
Could Ball demand a trade maybe as he did apparently like the Suns and Bulls the first trade rumor occurance, as he thought he would get mins there but if NOLA promises him some serious minutes he may change his mind + the fact Gentry runs a similar offense to Luke may also make the transition easier for him. Who knows maybe he can also convince them to take Melo Ball with one of their many future picks lol.
As for who do they pick with the 4th pick in the draft(if Kept): I could see them bringing in the following players.
R.J barret-The could possible trade up 1 spot if they really had to by either using a future pick+ 4th pick for knicks 3rd pick, They could use him in a 6th man role if Jrue is kept. As I see him a SG/combo guard not a PG.
Jarret Culver/De’andre Hunter: I don’t know much about these guys but they look like they have some good physical tools and both can play Wing positions Pf,Sf and SG. One of these two could be a good insurance incase Ingram has reoccuring Blood clot issues..
Some people have also said Garland was getting a serious look at 4 by the lakers but me personally I don’t know if I want to deal with another Rich paul Client for a while..Also the very small sample size is a little worrying..However you at least have to give him a look so you have all the information…
