I was surprised these guys were drafted as I didn’t even have them on my radar
    Justin James
    Quindarry Weatherspoon
    Jarrell Brantley
    Vanja Marinkovic.

The guys I was really surprised DID NOT get drafted were:
    Louis King
    Lugentz Dort
    Jalen Lecque
    Naz Reid

I agree I thought Johnson was going in the 20-35 range.
Okeke I had in the 30-40 range.
Poole I had in the 55-undrafted range so that was a major surprise even though I did have him at #58 in my mock to the Warriors so I knew they had interest in him.

Bazley I had in the 25-30 range so he wasn’t that much of a surprise to me.

I really thought someone would take a flier on Kris Wilkes in the second round. He definitely has room to improve his shooting, but off overall talent and potential I would’ve taken him in the 40s.

I had Wilkes in my 50-undrafted range so I wasn’t surprised he didn’t get picked.  He got swooped up pretty quick by NY on a two-way.

     I also missed on:

    Justin James

    Quindarry Weatherspoon

    Jarrell Brantley

    Vanja Marinkovic

I didn’t have Poole going either, and like many I had Lecque and Naz Reid getting picked. I followed a bit if hype and had Claxton up high. Bol as well, but I still think he should’ve gone higher based on what is publicly available. There must be a medical reason because it’s the only thing that wouldn’t have been shared that could’ve dropped him so hard.

I had Cam Johnson as high as 19 but 11 was a shock. I had Okeke going from early 20s, so a slightly bit higher was just a surprise because Orlando took him. I thought maybe a team with multiple picks, like Boston or San Antonio with their second pick.

Hayes was a shock going 8 to New Orleans. I had him pegged right in the 9-12 range, next to Zion though I thought a shooter like Bol was a better fit.

The free agent puzzle is almost as interesting this year! We need a big board going for this too…

The Wolves got a steal when they signed Naz Reid as a free agent after not  getting drafted in either round. They’ll be able to stash him for a year or two and he will have time to develop.

I agree, it’s hard to believe he was not drafted. Some drafts had him going in the first round.

Langford at 14 was surprising.  They’re gonna regret not taking one of the many bigs available. they’re trying to emulate the  warriors small ball which is dumb

Cam Johnson and Chuma Okeke were the big surprises for me especially Cam. I thought a healthy Okeke would go around where he went, I assume he’s recovering well.

It was a very good year for guys who came out of Portsmouth. Jarrell Brantley, Quinndary Weatherspoon, and Mariol Shayok were on the PIT all-tournament team. Justin James and Terance Mann also played there.

Surprisingly, the G-League elite camp also proved to be beneficial as Cody Martin, Justin Wright-Foreman, and Dewan Hernandez (as well as Mann and Shayok) got drafted off an event that explicitly messaged it as being a level below.

This is worth remembering when people are convinced hiding out during the pre-draft cycle is the smart move.
