Rumor has it they’re interested in Lonzo Ball but I wouldn’t trade him for the 6th pick in this draft if I was the Lakers..What do you guys think about Jrue Holiday for the 6th Pick? If not him who would you target for the 6th Pick?

Jrue for the 6th pick would be a good deal to me… If they ended up trading AD to the Lakers, the could have the first pick, the 4th and 6th pick of the draft + probably 3 players consisting of Lonzo/Ingram/Kuzma/Hart. Draft Zion, Culver and Garland or Hunter, and you suddenly got one of the brightest future in the NBA.. Interesting thought

I’d definitely consider dealing Jrue Holiday for the #6 pick if I’m New Orleans. They’re likely to deal Anthony Davis already so they should just start building around Zion.

I actually think the Lakers probably would consider this just because it lands them another pick to try and strike a deal for AD.

But it makes more sense for the Pelicans to acquire the pick themselves for someone like Jrue as people have said.

I wouldn’t trade that pick for Jrue Holiday, no way. That’s how teams get stuck in no man’s land. Can make the playoffs, yet not close to Championship type team. The Sun’s aren’t a Holiday type PG away from being really good. Like he’s a good fit, just not at the cost of a number 6 pick.

Take Garland and trade them a future pick, top 3 protected. Gamble of Reddish, or White. Try and find that third piece that matches up age wise with your young core. Nevermind look at the Butler trade, it only took swapping what pick 7 for 16, then the second one two ok players. I don’t see how Holiday get’s you so much more. Frankly he’s overpayed for what he is.

Keep drafting medicore players then your good players like Booker and Ayton would want to be traded and have to start over again. AD all over again..plus fans want to see a competitive product on the floor. The number 6 pick will not make them competitve.

Booker and Ayton are crazy young. Booker hasn’t even played one year on his new five year deal. Ayton can’t leave for four more years. No reason to panic now and that is a panic move, short sighted. Do you want to be the Pistons?

Rebuilding is about stages. You want to get better every year from here on out. The roster isn’t ready to take that next step, maybe in a year. Take the young guy, then maybe next year make a move like that.

Sounds like you need a new GM, not a bandaid trade. Your going to likely have two of Culver, Garland, White of Reddish on the board to pick from. That isn’t nothing, all four could really help you next year.

You get Holiday is part of the reason AD wants out? He’s just not as impactful as his numbers would suggest. He’s more SG than PG, not even close to a perfect fit next to Booker and he takes all your cap space.

You say take Garland like that is a no brainer. But the whole reason the story was even brought to light is because they think Garland will be gone by 6. There are not a lot of quality veteran point guards right now that are worth the #6 pick. Conley and Chris Paul both seem to be on the trade block but their salaries are crazy. I don’t see them making a trade unless it is for someone like Lonzo or Holiday. All other possibilities are either free agents, too young, or not worth the #6 pick. Coby White seems like their best bet if they keep the pick.

In Garland, White, Culver, and Reddish. I’d easily take the top three of those guys over trading for a crazy expensive Holiday. Like how is salary an issue with Paul and Conley, yet not Holiday? I’d say age is a bigger issue, but all three are going to kill your cap space. Lonzo Ball is the type of guy you should target. I don’t know about value, but he’d be a very nice fit.

As a Suns fan I’d be happy for them to select White or Garland. If Cavs did take Garland at 5, could that possibly put Sexton on the block and possibly be taken with the 6th pick – this is unlikely but just an idea.

Holiday has had a couple of good years but still has a few durability issues and turns 29 next week. He has two guaranteed years at just over $26 million and then a player option for over $27 million for 2021/22 which I’d assume he’d likely opt in for given he’d be 31 then. So we could have $79 million over 3 years for Holiday vs $67 million over 2 years for Mike Conley for the potential 6th pick.

I could see NOP looking favourably on this deal as it would give them the 6th pick and then they get more leverage if Lakers offer 4th pick as part of any AD trade.

Consider a trade involving Jrue Holiday to the Magic for Mo Bamba, Orlando’s 17th pick, and Evan Fournier? Or is that not enough for Jrue?

Fournier deal is interesting but it would depend on Vucevic resigning and also Bamba as a 6th pick last year is probably considered a better prospect than who’d go 6th this year. The Pelicans might not want to take Fournier’s salary on either.

It remains to be seen if a team would give up a good pick for Holiday or even Conley when you might have the likes of Ribio as a FA option if a rebuilding team was looking for a pass first PG.

No way in hell New Orleans trade Jrue Holiday for #6 . That is seriously optimistic. You are really overvaluing the number 6. Besides the fact the deal has almost zero chance of working with anyone due to cap numbers, Jrue is an all NBA defender and borderline all star in his peak and he plays multiple positions. The number 6, even in this draft, will be considered a steal if they come remotely close to what Jrue does by the end of their rookie deal. For example, Marcus Smart was a #6 who worked out well. He’s a good player. If you draft someone with 6 and that’s the type of player you receive, you’d settle with that. There’s no way I’d trade Holiday for Smart, and in this case, there’s no reason for New Orleans to gamble their second best player for the #6, unless they plan on tanking AND saving money from game 1.

I think Ball would be an absolute perfect fit in Phoenix and I would trade the 6th pick for him immediatly. A pass first PG with two years under the high pressure scrutiny of Laker Land, one year next to Lebron. I always thought playing there brings extra attention and pressure to him that was not suited for his game. And then he has to play with Lebron who’s game does not compliment him one bit. Its just been a terrible fit.

Ball is the exact kind of player that Ayton needs to play with. Say what you want about Lonzo but he does a great job looking to share the ball, get all his teammates involved and push the pace. The real key would be if Booker would allow Lonzo to be ball dominant and dictate the tempo. If Ball joined the team and Booker looked to play like a high usage Klay Thompson that would be absolutely devasting, especially with a constant pick and roll/pick and pop threat with Ayton who to me projects as a big man that can do what Lamarcus Aldridge does and what Clint Capela does at the same time on the offensive end.

He can also be one of the most disruptive gaurd defenders in the league at times and when he learns when to gamble and when not to I feel he has all defensive team potential. Ball in Phoenix is a match made in heaven and if it happens I will predict they make the playoffs next year!

If the Pelicans trade Holiday for the 6th pick they are beyond stupid and deserve to have the team moved and taken away from them.

I have been saying Ball on the Suns would be a nice fit also lol

I like Balls game as it is refreshing to see a two way P.G that elevates his team without jacking a whole lot of shots to do it and plays consistent defense, the only thing left is to become a 14-20 ppg scorer and a reasonable f/t shooter as all he needs to be is a threat from 3 to keep teams honest..The fit on the Suns would be amazing though as Booker and Balls game complement each other..

As for the Jrue for the 6th pick trade idea..If they have already moved A.D why not go full cap shed move and get the best available young S.G or C and hit reset or Cap absorb for future picks sort of moves ..Unless you believe a core of Zion,Ingram,Kuz,Jrue and Ball is playoff ready? Assuming that was the deal/package they took. However I don’t know if Jrues game really fits with  Bookers game though…

More realistically, the Sun’s could get a developing guard for the pick, like Lonzo Ball or DSJ or in a s & t for Brogdon or Rozier

The Brogdon s&t makes sense but I think they could just outbid for Rozier. Rozier would probably lose his mid playing with that team though, they have no structure whatsoever. He thought it was bad at Boston.

I doubt NO will trade Holiday. They need him for some stability next year. The year after sure why not. This year they need to have a Vet locker room guy.

Why not consider Mike Conley or Ricky Rubio ?

I wouldn’t give up a 6th pick for Conley but he could fit in well if they want to start winning…

I honestly don’t know what they 6th pick in this draft would get you…

As personally I think this draft rivals 2016 in terms of weakness…

Who they could trade with though is probably teams that either a hitting reset: Grizzlies,Hornets if Kemba leaves, or Washington(Wall if they hit reset).

Teams who might give up ageing vets that don’ fit team any more:

Cavs-K-love,Utah Rubio,Pelicans if A.D is moved Jrue holiday.CelticsTerry Rozier sort of torched the team in interviews and Heat dragic..

    and

Teams that just want youth or Assets for trade: Atlanta,Knicks and Lakers

So if the Suns had to get a P.G  of that list this what they might be able to get..

Wall if you don’t mind waiting a year for him due to rehab…

Mike C if Grizzlies hit reset could be a good fit for them due to veteran leadership and even keel personality.

Jrue holiday don’t know about the fit but would cover Bookers average defense up a little bit..

Kemba but sort of like booker average defense..

Dragic-Don’t if he wants to go back though..

Dependent on A.D trade if they need assets:

Ball(best fit IMO) or DSJ of Knicks sort of an average fit IMO..

    Free agents:

    Rubio,Rozier(if celtics don’t match),
