    Should the Knicks look at trying to get Westbrook from OKC now that Paul George has been traded?

    I doubt Westbrook would want to stick around in OKC now that Paul George has gone and left him for Kawhi and the Clippers. Could Miami also be a team that puts feelers out for Westbrook to join Jimmy Butler at the Heat?

    IDK, but these are just a couple of ideas that popped up in my head just now. Anyway I would like to hear the thoughts of you guys from all parts of the Globe.

     So hypothetically if we were to trade Westbrook it would have to be now when he has some value left as in two maybe three seasons I see his game dropping off a cliff unless his shot returns(to MVP season form) or has majorly improved.

    As for what those two teams can offer:

    Miami is a very logical choice for two reasons Dragic( makes money work and is expiring),Justise Winslow or one of Bam(maybe both) and this seasons rookie would have to be involved and at least 2 first rounders I am guessing.. This gives Butler a solid running mate in Westbrook who suits his time line. The only issue is what else do you put around them. A.D next season maybe?

    NYK..Unfortunately I don’t know how they could make it work $ wise if they could make it work then sure why not as I know westbrook would love NYK due to fashion scene there. My guess is it would at least take Knox and mulitple picks and something to at least make the $ come close enough. Also it maybe a tool to try recruit A.D next season as apparently the guy is still looking at least taking a few meetings..

    The other ideas that could maybe work… These are some of the ideas floating out there..
    T-wolves: Wiggins-Who they apparently want to get off his deal also, This years rookie and at least 1 pick or two may work for Westbrook and say Ferguson.. Wiggins suits our rebuild/re-tool time line better than Westbrook and if he still plays very little defense it will be about the same as Westbrook lol.

    Houston: Maybe the Jimmy Butler trade idea resurfaces  for them..But I would parlay Capella to a team for a need/Picks..

      Trade with Minnesota make sense for both sides. Wiggins, Okogie and next year pick. I doubt OKC is playoff team after loosing George with or without Westbrook. They have SGA and Shroeder at PG so getting wing in Westbrook deal would make sense. Although I never liked Westbrook, he would be huge upgrade for Minnie cause they won’t make playoff with current roster. They have to make a move

      Trade with Miami also make sense, but I don’t know how much Riley appriciate Westbrook and how much is he willing to give up on Winslow

       The problem with a deal with Miami is the Heat cannot trade a first round pick until 2025 and I doubt OKC wants to wait that long. Plus, the seven year rule means Miami can only trade one first round pick to OKC.

     Most teams are smart and won’t want him.  The knicks are one of the few teams dumb enough to try and trade for him…

       I hope for Knicks fans sake they don’t trade for Westbrook. They’re much better off staying on their current course and building around their young guys. I wouldn’t want Westbrook there mucking that up.

    Great deal for Raps to get Russ for Lowry, OG and two 1sts. Great deal for OKC as they save $170million owed to Russ. 

    Toronto could still compete in the East. 

    OKC start again with SGA, OG and Adams.

       I would rather keep Lowry. He would remain the leader in that locker room and could help Russell adapt to playing Raptors basketball instead of just jacking up bad shots if thats even possible.

     absolutely not. Westbrook does nothing for this team expect pad his own stats. The thunder want draft picks. This will be Melo 2.0 but worse.

     I could see the Knicks trying to make a Hail Mary trade for Westbrook as they have the picks due from Dallas and Sam Presti would be very tempted to reloasd with a bucket full of draft picks to make Danny Ainge jealous.

    Plus don’t forget Billy Donovan was an outstanding college coach so there is a guy there who can develop young players.

    The issue with the Knicks is that their roster is far worse than OKC’s so how they could put a team around Westbrook I don’t know.

      Yeah for the first time I’m actually fine with Billy Donovan as our coach. He will be absolutely great on a rebuilding team, he knows how to handle younger guys. It was clear he had no voice among the stars so I used to want to get rid of him, but now I think he’s going to be in a much better situation.

    How about Orlando as a trade destination?

    Westbrook and Diallo for Fournier, Fultz and either Isaac or Bamba + Picks?

    Orlando could run out this line up

    Westbrook-Ross-Aminu-Gordon-Vucevic

    Augustin-Diallo-Okeke-(either Isaac or Bamba)
