Ricky Rubio…. Top 10 point in the NBA? Yes? No?

If the kid could shoot better…. would he be top 5?

Nope. He’s only what 22 so I’m not doubting his potential. What he needs to really shine is a change of scenery. A team like Houston with a big and wings would be ideal for Ricky to get his

     no.

he has all the tools except a jump shot. he’s been horrendous shooting the ball and it effects the whole team. they now play off him and arent hesistant to double team Love or Pek down in the post.

he’s also having trouble finishing at the rim. he has one of the lowest rates in the league right now. without the ability to finish and to make a jumper his offensive game is REALLY limited.

if he never improves his jump shot to a respectable point,he’ll never reach his ceiling and will forever be the player he is right now.

i hope he does because he can be one of the most exciting players to watch.he’d be a triple double threat every game.

just a question regarding Rubio, is Kyrie Irving regarded as the better point guard because he can score so much better despite avergaing less assists, steals and rebounds? one could make an argument that kyrie is averaging only 2 less assists and 1 and half board and steals than Ricky despite scoring more than twice the ammount that ricky does. im just curious on what are the oppinons of the other posters of these two young point guards.

With the NBA going to a smaller player type, a scoring point is better most of the time. Tony Parker and probably the best example. Since he is so great at getting to the basket and has developed a nice mid range game, teams have to suck in on him on DEF, leaving his shooters of the BiG Fundamental open.

And i dont think Rubio is in the top ten. Top ten point guards dont average 8 points a game.

He’s one of the greatest passers ever. In my opinion he’s behind John Stockton and Steve Nash. But that’s the problem he can only pass. When he drives the only way he gets points is by luck or foul shots. He can’t shoot either. Once he gets better at those things then maybe top 10,  but for now nope.
