sniperParticipantRank them by what? The career they’ve had up till now? How valuable they are to their team at this moment? Who I’d pick if I were choosing sides in a pickup game? Who I expect to have the best career when all’s said and done? Lots of ways to look at it.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI agree with the previous post that it’s pretty impossible without some sort of context. If I were strictly ranking these guys based on the value they could bring right now to a team:
1. Mitchell- has probably elevated himself more than anyone else in the bubble
2. Beal- has more a proven track record than booker.
3. Booker- took his game to another level in bubble. Will it continue into next season?
4. Thompson- he’s on the wrong side of thirty and coming off a major injury. Hard to rank him higher right now
5. Middleton- solid second option, but just doesn’t have the explosiveness of the players above him. I’d actually consider him more of a sf
6. McCollum- also a solid second option who can get hot and carry a team at times. But not as versatile or as good a defender as Middleton.
7. Holiday- good jack of all trades do everything type of guy but if your relying on him to do too much offensively your team is probably not very good.
8. SGA- He’ll likely climb this list fast but just doesn’t have track record right now to be higher
9. DeRozan- Aging, ball-dominant player whose game is built for a different era. He probably has the least future value of anyone on this list
10. Hield- Great shooter who can score in bunches but doesn’t really bring much else to the table. Probably best suited in a sixth man role for a contender.1+ -

sniperParticipantOK, based on “current value,” I would divide them into three tiers.
Tier One
1. Mitchell. The co-best player on a team that is, or very soon will be, a legit contender.
2. Middleton. Clearly the 2nd best player on a team that’s clearly a contender.
3. McCollum. Clearly the 2nd best player on a team that, if everything goes right, is sort of a longshot contender.
4. Thompson. The 3rd or 4th best player on one of the greatest teams of all time — but next time we see him on the court, it will probably have been 18 months or more since he played an NBA game.Tier Two
DeRozan, Holiday, Beal, Booker. Put them in any order. For a couple weeks Booker just looked like the best shooting guard in the league, but other than that he’s never even sniffed the playoffs. DeRozan is the most accomplished of the bunch, and he’s incredibly efficient on offense, but his hero-ball style can only take a team so far. Beal has been an elite scorer, and Holiday an elite defender, for several years on forgettable teams. I don’t know whether a team can win a title with any of these guys as the 2nd-best player.Tier Three
SGA, Hield. These two just haven’t been around long enough yet. But SGA gets the nod over Hield for his playoff performances.0 -

bt102Participant1. Mitchell. Still crazy he’s had more playoff success in his rookie season than Gordon Hayward in his 7.
2. Bradley Beal
3. Klay Thompson
4. Devin Booker
5. Khris Middleton
6. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
7. Jrue Holiday
8. CJ McCollum
9. Buddy Hield
10. DeMar DeRozan0 -

BKGingerSnapParticipant1. Donovan Mitchell – I wouldn’t even really call Mitchell a 2-guard. He’s a better version of the Gilbert Arenas 0 guard.
2. Klay Thompson – even off a torn ACL, he’s one of the all time great shooters and the best defender on this list.
3. Bradley Beal – elite offensive weapons, needs to get to the playoffs
4. Devin Booker – developing rapidly, needs to get to the playoffs
5. Khris Middleton – always loved him, great 2nd banana, lower ceiling than some of the players below him
6. Shai Gilgeous Alexander – great at getting to the rim, very cerebral, needs to improve off the ball shooting
7. CJ McCollum – crafty offensive player, pretty clutch, but limited defensively
8. Jrue Holiday – good on offense, really good on defense, but definitely not great in area
9. Demar Derozan – good player but lack of 3 point shooting is extremely frustrating
10. Buddy Hield – great shooter, might need to get off the kings to reach his full potential0 -
