Raptors 15-4 and Heat 14-5 I didn’t think they would do so well. Pacers look balanced and still got Dipo to come back
Hornet 8-13, i actually thought they would be one of the worst teams in the league – have done well.
Orlando nearly have the best defense for points against, would expect them still to finish around 500.
Pistons 7-13, most of us expected them to be around the 500 mark

West
Lakers 17-3. I thought with chemistry they wouldn’t be that good. Thats on target to go 70-12 !! I dont’ think they will go that well though
Maves and suns started well.
Portland 8-12 and Spurs sit 11th and 12th in the West, i think most of us expected them in the playoffs this season. Portland should still get to over 500

Wow who would’ve thought Toronto would’ve been 15-4 3rd best team in the NBA with Pascal Siakam playing like a legit MVP candidate despite injuries to Lowry and Ibaka. All without Kawhi.

I guess next thing for haters/doubters to say is they wont be good in the playoffs though right?

Lowry and gasol getting older, some really good teams in the east so tough to say how far they will go in playoffs

I felt Luka Doncic should’ve been WCP of the week. But I’m happy for Melo getting that honor.

I don’t think the fact that the Heat are good is stunning, but how they are doing it is. The contributions of Kendrick Nunn, Tyler Hero, and Duncan Robinson are giving them depth that I don’t think anyone saw coming. They aren’t having to push Jimmy Butler for crazy minutes or usage. They seem to have Dragic settled into a healthy role for a guy who has been a pro since he was 17. Justice Winslow missed multiple weeks with a concussion, and they were fine. If not for the gummy incident, nobody would notice that Dion Waiters is still around. They are in a much healthier place than anyone could have imagined, and seem well-positioned for a playoff run.

Yeah, some nice surprises and I hate to piss on the fire but this always happens though. A quarter of the season is a reasonable sample but it’s still heavily impacted by schedules. Things change dramatically with players under fatigue as well, so a young team 20, 40 and 60 games in all look very different.
I think virtually all teams still end up around where we thought they would. Lakers and Suns are fighting harder now with new players and for their new coaches. Miami and Toronto are still who we thought they were. Dallas was always going to go as far as Luka took them, just some people didn’t expect this jump (happy to say I put a bet down on him at MVP at 17/1). Devonte Graham has come from nowhere so the Hornets unexpectedly replaced Kembas numbers straight away. I don’t see major surprises yet. I still think we’ll see the Clips, Lakers, Bucks and Sixers near the end. Maybe just a bit disappointed with Jokic individually, he must be back on the Pepsi.
