Notes: the Knicks could go in a variety of ways – I don’t think Barrett will start right away, but I think he ends up a starter eventually. Raptors will be decent, not as good as last year as their wings are really downgraded from Leonard/Green to RHJ/Powell – expect a big jump from Siakam at least. I don’t think the Boston players have the mental fortitude to do anything substantial. Their young guys just don’t have the IT factor. Philly has a super stacked starting 5 – will they be able to share the ball? Also, will they have fixed their depth issues? I think the real x-factor is Brooklyn. How far can they get without Durant? How much of a building block can they develop. This division is extremely competitive, and I think we see at least 3 if not 4 playoff teams. The Knicks bring up the rear…another odd and dysfunctional season in the Big Apple coming your way.

 Boston: had great big-man defenders last year in Horford, Baynes & Morris. Now they’ve got Kanter and an undersized PF.

Brooklyn: Jarrett Allen is one of their top 3-4 players; I agree he may not start but he will finish games alongside Jordan (or instead of him, for free throws).

New York: Will have Morris, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis coming off the bench. What a dumb roster.

Philly: If they stay healthy, starters so good that Mike Scott, James Ennis and Trey Burke are good enough off the bench.

Toronto: Still has a great bench with Van Vleet, Ibaka and don’t forget Anunoby.

Allen and Jordan will be in a timeshare in BKN, but I expect Allen to start. NYK will start RJ along with Dennis Smith Jr (or Payton, I could see this being a timeshare too) Knox, Randle and Robinson. I expect Robinson to have better numbers than that, that’s about what he had last year as a rookie! Boston will start Brown at the 2, and BKN will also start Kurucs at the 4. Prince is better coming off the bench backing up LeVert or Harris. And I think Harris might actually start at the two (switch Harris and LeVert around)

I think Boston might go Brown over Smart as starters. I think Smart has to be the 6th man as all there backup point guards are young and inexperienced. I think you need his experience coming of the bench.

For Brooklyn, I’d rather see Allen over Jordan. Kurucs might get a shot over Prince, but I think Prince should be in there if they are trying to win.

In Toronto, I think they start OG instead of RHJ. He got the starts when Kawhi sat out last year. They have developed him and I think they want to see what he can bring.

 For the sake of the Raptors lets hope they don’t start RHJ. He plays hard but he’s not a 3, especially beside Norm & Siakam who can be streaky at best 3P shooters.

I think it was on the Lowe post after the championship, Nurse mentioned how they initially had hoped to start OG alongside Kawhi at the 4 this past season but because of injuries & Pascal’s improvement he had to take a backseat. 

They’re invested in OG and I’d be very surprised if they don’t try to force it with him at the 3 at least for the start of the season.
