This isn’t just who is better, but who is the better fit for the teams roster.

Malcolm Brogdon vs Khris Middleton – Both of these guys are free agents & only 1yr between them in age. Both are very good defensively & effective scorers, I think Brogdon with bigger offensive role could get Milwaukee 18-20ppg given his efficiency having a 50/40/90 season. Middleton is an All-Star & where he is better than Brogdon is defensively he can guard more positions given his size, for this reason I’d go with Middleton. They may keep both but no doubt it’ll be expensive.

Jonathan Isaac vs Aaron Gordon – Both are still quite inconsistent, but part of that has to do with the organization they play for as well as. I kind of look to their ceilings to make a decision here & the fact that
Isaac is only 21yrs old as well as having not played much due to injury but showed growth this year, I see a ceiling like Pascal Siakam. Aaron Gordon reminds me of Tobias Harris as an upside, I just think his role needs more consistency to it. He is also owed $55mil over next 3yrs, I would take Isaac.

Myles Turner vs Domantas Sabonis – I hoped they would get time together this year to find out if they can play together, but that didn’t happen. Turner is turning into an elite rim protector, but offensively he still looks lost as well as not being able to post up on guys who are far smaller than him. Sabonis is a very good offensive player, who I’m confident can do more given the opportunity to do so, but his limited wingspan & lateral movement hurt him defensively. I see Turner essentially being the guy he was this year which is pretty good (Milwaukee’s Brook Lopez is a nice comparison), but Sabonis I can see getting to the level of a Nikola Vucevic, although maybe closer to 17-18ppg rather than 20ppg & a guy who can initiate offense which is huge in today’s NBA, I take Sabonis.

Jimmy Butler vs Tobias Harris – Both free agents & I don’t see Philly needing both. I like Harris long-term as he is 3yrs younger & a good off-ball scorer which I think fits well with Simmons & Embiid. Butler is better where he is a 1st or 2nd scoring option & has the ball in his hands to create on a regular basis.

Interested as to why you went Turner? Rim protectors don’t seem to impact the game at all like they use to & outside of being a standstill shooter he literally offers nothing else offensively. He would be a nice fit in the right team (Milwaukee S & T for Brogdon haha), but he can’t post, can’t create off the dribble & gets abused by physical bigs, Sabonis can hold his own given he is quite a solidly built individual.

 

I look at it as Milwaukee Brook Lopez vs Nikola Vucevic which is the ceiling I see for both guys.

The games I watched Indiana play Turner was a huge difference maker. When I watched the Pacers and they didnt have him in the lineup the team was completely lost without him. His defense is great and he is really the main reason why that Indiana defense is great because without him they would be giving up 110 points per game. I feel like he was the best defensive player (along wth Gobert) this year.

1. Brogdon vs Middleton- they’re both the ultimate professional. Middleton has become almost unguardable. He’s arguably a top 20-30 player, and is still improving.I’ll take Middleton. 

2. Issaac vs gordon – Gordon, easy choice. I’ve never been an J. Isaac fan. Gordon has a great personality, has shown promise as a shooter. Athletically he blows Isaac off the charts.

3. Turner vs Sabonis. Turner. Sabonis reminds me of Steven Adams, just not an impact player and he is limited on defense. I may not have said this a year ago. But like a previous poster said, turner had a break out year.

4. Butler vs Harris. Preferably neither. Both are a headache. Harris is a chucker, butler is a head case. I’d prefer Wilson Chandler.

1. middleton – brogdon is replaceable.  sterling brown has potential but so does a few of the end of the 1st draft prospects.  middleton is irreplaceable.  he’s long, can defend multiple positions and can shoot.  perfect compliment to giannis and bucks’ ability to play big or small.

2.  gordon – they sort of play different positions but i’d take gordon.  he’s more refined on offense and i don’t think isaac will hit his potential on offense.  sort of reminds me of when everyone thought if MGK could shoot, how he’d be the next great.  gordon can rebound, handle, shoot and defend multiple positions.  isaac lacks the shooting and handles.

3.  sabonis – what he lacks on defensive side, he makes up in rebounding and offense.  turner is a great shot blocker but is just not very aggressive when it comes to crashing the boards or offense.  sabonis has more tricks on offense, way better handles/passing and is continuing to expand his jumper.  i think he’s nimble enough to learn how to be more efficient on defense while i think turner will never get that killer instinct.  turner reminds me of a really athletic brooks lopez.  sabonis reminds me of a nikola jokic lite version.

4.  harris – soley based on age and ability to play the 3 and 4.  butler was one of my favorite players until all the drama in minny.  thought he really hurt his stock and many fans question his ability to work with younger players that need a mentor.  harris seems like your blue-collar guy that comes to work, plays hard and doesn’t talk much.  his game works really well with simmons and embiid as well since he’s more catch and shoot than needs the ball like butler.

K-Midd vs. Brogdon — Middleton. As a Bucks fan, I want to keep both. Brogdon is a crazy efficient and smart player who should field some lucrative offers in the offseason. While Brogdon might be more consistent offensively, he doesn’t have the ability to take over like Middleton, who can get hot from deep and is lethal from the mid-range. I would also give the defensive edge to Middleton. If I had to pick between the two, give me Middleton.

Isaac vs. Gordon — Isaac. Of these four, this is the easiest for me. Isaac has tremendous potential, especially on defense. I also really like the Pascal comparison here. Gordon to me is an inefficient tweener who doesn’t offer near the defensive contributions that Isaac does.

Turner vs. Sabonis — Turner. This was a tough one. I think Sabonis is one of the most skilled bigs we have in the game today, but Turner, to me, has the higher upside. Additionally, Turner is one of the best defensive anchors in the game today. If Turner can start putting the pieces together offensively, watch out.

Butler vs. Harris — Harris. I think Butler is the superior player. He is a lethal scorer, especially off of switches, and is one of the best perimeter defenders in the game. However, I would go with Harris because he’s younger and fits better in Philadelphia. He is the superior off-ball player, provides much-needed spacing and fits the Phily timeline better than Butler.

Turner vs Sabonis…close. Sabonis could be his dad 2.0 or could be Greg Monroe. I’m going with Sabonis by the slimmest of margins

Butler vs Harris…Butler. Jimmy is a lockerroom mess, a head case and he’s expensive. He also is a winner, and with Embiid and Simmons, you need that particular d!ckhead personality to win games.

Sabonis isn’t even as good as the washed up NBA version of his dad. Seriously, Sabonis Sr. had Boban’s size with Jokic’s skill level. He was just on another level.

 1-Middleton. The Bucks have 2 pg’s already so don’t really need Malcom as much as they need Khris, The bucks also need shooting beside Giannis until he gets a reliable jumper to space the floor.

2.Depends on who you have more faith in. Aaron is finally hitting his potential vs Issac is still in that potential stage…If they Magic are hitting  retool over Rebuild Gordon as he is more ready to contribute now. But if they Magic are hitting reset if Nik V and others are leaving then Issac…Also Issac has been hella injury prone so far vs Gordon who has been pretty durable.So there is that also 

3.Personally neither as both are really flawed Turner can’t score and Sabonis really is an average defender.. Pacers really just need A.D…But if I was forced to choose…Probably Sabonis if the game keeps moving the same direction floor spacing and at least average defense makes you playable over a player that can defend but offers very little offense and that also maybe reduced if switching defense is compulsory…

4. Both…Sorry for the cop out but they are both needed…Especially if Embiid’s health is starting to really become an issue and Simmons Jump shot is non-existent..They need all the scoring possible.

But the question that may get your answer who would I rather build around? Butler if you believe your team is a legit contender with a small window due to age or injury history-See Embiid..(Lakers would be perfect for him due to LBJ age lol) or Harris if I have a larger window due to young core with minimal injury history risk.
