r377ParticipantThe Raptors have signed Pascal Siakam to a four-year, max contract extension.
One of the bright young stars in the game, and a player viewed as a franchise cornerstone, the Raps were not going to let Siakam walk away while they controlled his rights. This new deal will keep Siakam in Toronto through the end of the 2023-24 season. He will earn $130 million over the life of the four-year deal. It does not include any player or team options.

Thats $32.5 mill per season x 4

OhCanada-ParticipantLove the deal. Raptors are in good shape for the future with their young team.

The GoatParticipantThat’s a big number but they did win a chip. Young talent with the experience are gonna get paid.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantHe will never be better than he was in the finals.
Kawhi took all the pressure off. Him as a focal part of the offense is going to be rough.
Raptors are going to be struggling for an 8 seed.

OhCanada-ParticipantRaptors are gonna finish with a better regular season record then the Lakers.

cohenbc1ParticipantHe doesn’t need to be Kawhi to earn the max, and I don’t think they’ll ask him to carry the offense for long stretches the way Kawhi did. If he’s a perennial all-NBA defender and averages 20 points (which he should easily manage just based on the increase in touches he’ll get), he’s a max player to me.
BTW he’s only 25, and I think during the finals they said he didn’t pick up a basketball until his teens. There’s still a lot of upside with Pascal.

r377ParticipantI personally think $32mill for him is too much. $32 mill for someone who is not an all-star.
Is this the biggest contract for someone who is not an all-star ?

HitsterParticipantGood deal for him, we don’t know what his upside is and what he has been given is a lot more than Buddy Hield was after. But Pascal is likely the Raptors key building block so they had to pay to keep him and if he has another breakout season and makes All Star consideration then his value goes up even higher.
