In Ignas. Kid can play. I know it’s summer league, but I like his game. A lot.

Ive been a fan since I first saw him play in the EYBL with his Canadian based team, but didn’t really follow him too much at Michigan.

Hes just a player, does a little bit of everything well, is strong with the ball and finds a way to carve out a path to the basket. He’s the biggest steal of the 19 draft from what I’ve seen so far in SL.

I like his game too. Question…would that make RJ the biggest bust?

RJs game is going to take time to translate. I’m not ready to go there yet.

 I wasn’t really expecting Ignas to be able to put the ball on the floor and attack like he has shown … that was his game in HS,  but I guess I wasn’t expecting at this level … it’s often what prevents a lot of players from being much better than they are — like Dario Saric. 

Saric handles the ball ball a lot  outside the NBA and was a playmaker in international play, but now he is kinda stuck on the 3 point line. You don’t really see him create off the bounce much.

I love the way Ignas keeps his body low out of the triple threat and isn’t easily shut off when he attacks. Instead of pulling up or securing the ball he goes to a counter move, often a spin or step through, and he makes shots.

It is summer ball, so I’m not quite ready to throw a parade, but I would be really surprised if he doesn’t become a good NBA player at some point.

RJ looked horrible. I questioned his body language and attitude all year. I think I was wrong about Rui, he looks pretty good, I had only seen his  unimpressive highlights. Clarke from Memphis also played well. Of the 3 Phoenix point guards (okobo, and leque) Jared Harper played the best.
