I’d have a hard time giving Anthony Edwards rookie of the year. Low percentage scorer on the worst team in the league. I’d argue Jea’Sean Tate has had just as good a rookie year playing for Houston. Edwards takes 8 more shots than him
which is twice as many shots per game and only makes 2 more of them than Tate and has nowhere near the defensive impact.

But after Edwards nobody really has the production. Ball wont get it because of his injury. Haliburton is really the only option but can you win Rookie of the year with 12 points and 5 assists per game?

They’ll probably give it to Edwards.

Also I’ve been saying Simmons is the best defensive player in the league for a while now since that playoff series Philly had with Toronto where everyone was bashing him for not being a first option. He’s an amazing defensive player, probably the toughest player in the league as far as on court play goes, he does everything.

My awards (not who I think will win):

MVP- Gobert (MVP = the MVP of the best team, IMO. CP3 is in 2nd place. Yes, Jokic is statistically the *best* player, and is having one of the greatest seasons of all time, but I don’t think the MVP should go to a guy on a team 6 games out of 1st and likely to fall further.)
ROY- Jea’Sean Tate (see OhCanada, above)
    DPOY- Gobert
    6th Man- Harrell
    MIP- Julius Randle
    Coach- Monty Williams
Executive- Sean Marks (I mean, I don’t know what more he could have done other than invent a time machine, go back to 1988 and sign peak Magic, Bird and MJ to join the 2021 Nets.)

MVP- Nikola Jokic – Joker’s durability puts him above LeBron, Embiid, Giannis, Luka, and others
ROY- Tyrese Haliburton – Can’t reward Edwards empty stats and LaMelo got hurt too early, loved the way Haliburton plays
DPOY- Embiid – I know everyone raves about Simmon’s defense but I think Embiid makes a bigger defensive impact cause of the way he draws fouls on offense and puts opposing team’s big men foul trouble. Also Embiid’s advanced defensive stats are better, Ben just gets more flashy steals to dunks.
6th Man- Jordan Clarkson – Rewarding the Jazz
MIP- Julius Randle – A career year, really great turn around story. Maybe the biggest career turn around for a one time mega recruit since maybe Chris Webber?
Coach- Quinn Snyder – Rewarding the Jazz
Executive- Sean Marks – even if the Nets don’t win it all, they have the greatest offensive roster ever assembled and I highly doubt trading away 8+ future draft picks/swaps will come back to bite them given that they are likely to remain at least a playoff team going forward.

I think Clarkson is a very good player, but he’s not even the best 6th man on the Jazz.
