mikeyvthedonParticipantThis week on Viseland, we give our 2020-21 NBA predictions. My brother and I compare our team rankings in each conference, give our conference finalist and NBA Finals predictions, plus go over who we think are the favorite to take home awards.
Would appreciate anyone that subscribed, liked or commented, as always. After the top few teams, definitely a ton of competition, and a lot of the unknown in terms of new additions, players coming back from injury that could change the landscape. Any hot takes in terms of who finishes where? Who is everyones top 3 MVP candidates for 2021? I know there was already a predictions challenge, but feel free to spark conversation in here. Have greatly appreciated the support!

NorrinRaddParticipantThat’s a long podcast, haven’t finished it (yet) but…
As of today, IMO, I have 11 players that can POSSIBLY get the MVP this year. Seems like a lot, but it really depends on how the season turns out of course… My rankings for MVP are in this order as follows:Anthony Davis – I think this year he proves he is now the league’s best player on the best team.
Giannis Antetokounmpo – If he can get earn best stats and top 2 teams in the East he has a chance.
Kawhi Leonard – if the Clippers challenge the Lakers with less and Kawhi actually plays enough games.
Stephen Curry – right back in the conversation if he can put GS in the top 5 out West with a new lineup.
Kevin Durant – if the Nets are the best team in the East and he plays a full season.
Luka Doncic – if the Mavericks are a top 5 team out West without Porzingis during the beginning.
LeBron James – If he hot dogs the show and doesn’t pass the torch to Anthony Davis and still wins.
Damian Lillard – If he leads his team to a top 5 finish out West.
Nikola Jokic – In the event Denver wins the West and he averages close to a triple double.
Joel Embiid – if he plays enough games and dominates like he should and is on a top 3 team in the East.
James Harden – only if he stays and is a top 5 team in the West or on the team with the best record.I have Anthony Davis as MVP, DPOY, and Finals MVP. A reachable feat if the Lakers are truly juggernauts as advertised, which I believe they are that good.
If anyone not on this list became MVP by season’s end, it would be a shocker. Ben Simmons still needs that jumper and Zion hasn’t proven he could be in shape a full season yet. They maybe have potential to be an MVP someday, but too early for them to be considered.
