OhCanada-ParticipantPolitics. Pretty sure he’s gonna become a Canadian politician not sure he can juggle both. Crazy thing is he isn’t “officially” a Canadian citizen. Could you imagine Masai Ujiri as Canada’s prime minister? Canada would become a province of Africa 😂.

RUDEBOY-ParticipantHe seems to be a intelligent guy. Lord knows we need to get Rid of all these old narrow minded people who r only there to fatten the pockets of themselves and their friends. I really don’t understand the thinking of a lot of poor White people in red states. Who have been blindsided by Republicans into the same old line for decades that they should pull themselves up by their bootstraps and not depend on the government. Refusing to increase the minimum wage to a livable wage. While at the same time they are giving corporations billions of dollars. The Democrats aren’t angels either.

Scrooge McDuckParticipantIf you knew any common sense… minimum wage hurts businesses by increasing operating costs. It doesn’t help the economy LOL.

ChoppyParticipantWe have minimum wages in Australia and everyone gets along fine. That’s why we don’t really have tipping either, because people typically get paid enough. People do tip occasionally, but it’s not expected.

RUDEBOY-Participantscrooge mcduck how does giving workers minimum wage hurt companies? do u want people to work for free? what helps the economy is when people spend money…thats why the stock market went down after congress failed to issue another stimulus package…..stats have shown when working people get money like a tax refund or stimulus check, they spend it right away……….u seem to be very misinformed….
of course some mom & pop businesses cant afford to pay $10 an hour…….im talking about major companies….walmart & costco are 2 of the most profitable companies in america…walmart makes 40 million dollars a day…500 billion dollars in 2019….their employees start off earning $11 an hour and increases to $14 & $15 with benefits in some states…costco pays their employees $15 an hour, thats the pay of 2 jobs if u are working the minimum wage of $7.25…
so if you are a company u can still make money and give your workers a livable wage…

OhCanada-ParticipantThis is why increasing minimum wage is bad.
Les say the grocery store has to increase minimum wage. To compensate for that increase they will now increase the price of milk, garbage bags, cheese, etc. Now because they increased the price of milk the landlords expenses have increased so the landlord has to increase his/her price of rent to make up the difference. So now that person who’s minimum wage increased has to pay more for groceries and more for rent, so it didn’t really increase their income.

Scrooge McDuckParticipantWhy I sound misinformed is because I’ve studied economics LOL. You haven’t. What helps the economy is wealth. That can including saving and never spending. I could go on but your comment isn’t worth it

RUDEBOY-Participantwith the pandemic affecting so many comapnies causing a few to close, increasing the minimum wage right now or next year isnt a good idea…but busineses that can afford to pay their employees $15 an hr will help lift almost 30 million people out of poverty…..
i agree there r pros & cons of increasing minimum wage..1 pro for businesses is it cuts the cost of training and rehiring, employees wont be eager to move on for better pay….with more money to spend it helps stores and busineses….0-
