BostonCs FanParticipantAre the C’s giving up on Smart already? 76ers are reportedly entertaining offers to move down in the mid 1st round. The LA times have reported that the Cs are trying to capitalize on the opportunity of moving up in the draft and had offered a package of Smart, the 16th and 28th overall pick for Nerlan Noel and the third overall pick. But the 76ers were not interested. The rumors leave me to believe that Boston aren’t sold on Smart and that there possibly eyeing a point guard in the draft. Not to mention that the, Racine Journal Times are reporting that Boston are eyeing Cameron Payne. Thoughts? Id like to hear from my fellow Celtics fans as well.

The_ReversalParticipantIf that reported deal is true, I wouldn’t take it as a sign that the Celtics are giving up on Smart. That deal would be an absolute steal for the Celtics. It’s also possible that the Celtics don’t see Smart as their long-term starting PG, but they still want him on the team. Maybe his best role would be as a third guard. I think Smart had a pretty good rookie year, and I don’t see why the Celtics would try to dump him.

NBAexpert82ParticipantThis is not the Celtics giving up on smart. The 76ers laughed at this offer. Anyone would make this deal as the Celtics gm weather you like smart or not.
