Looks like LeBron is going to be starting at point guard this year for the Lakers. What do you guys think this will do to his stat line and will Kuzma then start at the 3 next to Cousins and Davis? Hes always been a primary ball handler but this should be interesting to see if things even change that much.

I think you save Kuzma for the bench to spell Davis and Cousins. 

For the starting lineup, I’d throw in one of the guards (Rondo, KCP or Bradley) to start with those 4. I don’t think calling Lebron the "PG" really changes the lineup. It’s just them saying he’ll be handling the ball in the offense more.

The way LeBron defended (especially) last year it doesn’t surprise me he doesn’t want to defend the PG13s and Kawhis of this league anymore…

Honestly, it‘s probably the idea he will be their primary ball handler on offense like dmo said above. 31 year old Rondo won’t move the needle on offense anymore even if he is a good defender, maybe their best if Bradley doesn’t really come back into form from 2+ years ago. 

I truely believe the achilles heel of this team will be their defense. LeBron has been trash on this end for years now. Last year he had some Harden like lapses and Cousins and Kuz are also pretty terrible defenders as well. I give them probs for filling out the roster better then I expected but they are the opposite of what the Clippers have to offer on that end. 

I really want to see how the Lakers handle their season when things don’t work as planned and after GM LeBron shopped the entire roster for his hand selected players. We‘ll see but their should be no excuses

 Dunno about this. He has been pretty vocal in teams before that they needed a point guard, and I know his role will change, but it’s the most complex position. He’ll get by on talent but there are times where he is going to have trouble. Also defending Curry, Fox, Lillard – quick guys in his conference he’ll see regularly – isn’t him at age 35. On offense, you don’t want to take him out of just playing what he sees either, or making him a shooter to get the spacing right.  

Because Rondo played with both AD and Boogie, but also Bradley in Boston and Lebron last year, they’d be my 5 starters. Lebron at the 3. 

Cook, Green, KCP, Kuz, McGee in the 2nd unit.

 He’s clearly not going to be defending pgs full time or much at all for that matter. They will have guys like Bradley, kcp, Green, etc. for that. He already has functioned primarily as a pg for most of his career even if he’s not officially listed at the position. He clearly has the iq to play the position and it’s not like he’d be learning something new. The only other true pg they have on the roster is rondo, and he is not starting caliber material at this point in his career. This allows them to get more shooting and defense on the floor. I think they start lebron, Bradley, green, Davis and cousins. Possibly subbing kuzma or McGee for cousins in certain matchups. They allow rondo to run the second unit and be the primary ball handler for limited mins when lebron is off the floor. Overall, I like the idea.
