halfdecayedParticipantAssuming Zion, Ja and Barett go 1-2-3, who do the Lakers pick if they don’t trade the pick ? By the way, this pick puts the Lakers trade package over every other packages IMO. ESPN had Garland but I don’t want another PG with Lonzo and Lebron, we seen how that worked this year with Rondo.

nick5354ParticipantTBH I feel like it is complete mindf*ck outside of the top 3. Even barrent isn’t 100% going to 3 I feel. I feel like it a complete open race atm from those picks 4-10

juves4783Participanti would have to think culver and coby white are maybe the 2 best fits for LAL.
also wondering if memphis passes on ja for barrett because it makes sense on a few levels… that would put NY and LAL in weird situations if ja was there. both have invested in their PG positions and both are linked to kyrie rumors.

CoachWyersParticipantI agree Lakers probably go after Culver they could really use his shooting.

BeardedDragon84ParticipantCant see Memphis passing on Ja, dont see what these levels it makes sense are other than a better fit with Conley that lets them try and compete for the 8th spot for the next year or 2… and it doesnt really put ny and lal in wierd positions, just means ny would get a better prospect that they would probably dangle in an AD trade. And reuniting Ja and Zion would be sick, but it wont be happening.

halfdecayedParticipantCoby’s shooting would be intriguing, defensively Lonzo can switch to the 2 if need be. More of a scorer too, which fits with Lonzo. Interesting. !

MopgrassParticipantI still think Bol Bol is the guy. Outside shooting and rim protecting. Everyone wants it.
He already weighs 20 pounds more than his dad ever did. Yes, it’s not a great frame for muscle. But dude is skilled. Someone needs to get him to be a little more fierce consistently. There’s just too much upside to pass up. Even if he sits out this year.

Arc12345ParticipantIf they keep the pick, I could them trading Zo and drafting a better shooting point guard (White or Garland like people have mentioned)
If they trade the pick, I could actually see the Pelicans maybe trying to grab another high pick and finally part ways with Anthony Davis. But I doubt the Lakers even want to speak with them after how that turned out.

jtthebrickParticipantThey’ll trade it for sure. You don’t pair a rookie with 34 year old Lebron.
Picking 4th does make it a lot more likely they’ll be able to get Davis but then I have no faith in the Laker’s management at this point.

Dog_ShammdogParticipantI’d go Coby White. He’s a score first combo guard with enough size to play the 1 or 2 and he and Zo could mix and match on d depending on the lineups. They need shooting first and foremost. Garland’s definitely in play but I don’t think his off ball skills are at Coby’s level and the Lakers don’t need another player taking the ball out of Lebron, Ingram and Zo’s hands – even though Zo is the least ball dominant pg in the league, I think he needs a higher usage rate, personally.
They won’t do it, but a trade down for Fernando, Goga, Hayes etc would be fine in my book as well. Great draft position to trade down from in this years draft if you’re a team that’s sitting outside the top 3 that can afford to draft for need firs and foremost.

The GoatParticipantHunter or Bol
They could still package it to New Orleans for AD or the Cleveland for Love.

MopgrassParticipantHunter is pretty NBA ready, he does everything well except create, and I like his shot. He is a smart, uninspiring pick.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantNormally I’d be excited about the lakers moving up in the lottery, but I feel like this draft is such a crapshoot outside the top 3. I’m not sure how much greater the odds are you are going to find a true difference maker at 4 than you would at 11. I’ve been trying to figure out who the best prospect is all season outside the top 3 and haven’t really come to any consensus conclusion.
There is a very strong chance the lakers will trade this pick but if they keep it I’d strongly consider garland here. His build worries me somewhat, but his outside shooting and ability to create off the dribble is something sorely lacking on their roster. He’s a bit of a gamble with so little college experience, but I believe his game fits where the league is going and his upside could be as high as anyone outside the top 3. If not, hunter would be someone who could likely step in and contribute right away and could project as an elite defender and role player. Reddish would be a bit of a gamble, but his physical tools could be as good as anyone if he can put it all together. Bol would be a dark horse, but I’d doubt they’d reach on him this early. I have to admit I’d feel better about this pick if I had more confidence in the front office though.

OhCanada-ParticipantIm already considering this pick traded probably to the Pelicans. Who do you wanna pair with Zion.

Memphis MadnessParticipantZion needs Darius Garland. They could be the new Mark Aguirre-Isiah Thomas who went 1-2 in the 1981 draft and then reunited for two titles in Detroit.
Good chemistry in the McD’s scrimmage highlights.
Other than that, Lakers should keep the pick and go with Kareem Abdul-Jabbol.
