Iggy is defenitely underrated but I think he will step in from day one and be a productive player for the Knicks. Skills and role aside hes just one of those guys you call a good basketball player. He competes passionatly, studies the game, reads the floor, plays well off the ball cutting or running through screens, understands his teammates and opponents tendencies and will only continue to get better. Highly doubt he will end up being only an off the bench role player he has starter and more written all over him.

Gotta say I love what the Knicks have been doing for the last couple years. They have been drafting well, they arent making irrational free agency signings, trading Porzingis did not net a huge amount of value but it got a problem out of the way before it escalated and they also got Dennis Smith Jr and two 1st round picks for a guy that didnt even play last season who in a restricted free agent. The media will tell you they are all in for Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant but really who isnt. These guys have a reasonable plan nowdays that doesnt involve throwing money at whoever will take it.

KD to the Knicks alone isn’t that’s bad of a move. Look at what Toronto just won the ship with. A healthy KD could easily take a Knicks roster deep in the playoffs in the East.

 Toronto just won the ship with a team that had made the playoffs 5 years in a row average 53 wins advanced in the playoffs the last 3 years – Demar Derozan +Kawhi Leonard.

The Knicks dont have a single player on contract that have even played a playoff game or even been a part of a .500 team. Its a big difference.

Let’s get real. Kawhi would of led the Orlando Magic to a championship.  There is nothing special about the baby dinosaurs besides Kawhi.

 I said it before he was drafted and ill stand by it.  Even though he only averaged 13ppg I still belive Dennis Smith will be a very good player.

They got Smith, Mitchell, Knox and RJ Hunter as a nice young core.

If i was in charge of the Knicks, I would not go after any big FA this offseason.  I would let the youngsters all play and develop this season then see what quality FA will fit next offseason with them

 i have to completely disagree. while he could put up points in the big 10, he got destroyed defensively.. he also tends to disappear at times. the wisconsin game comes to mind, and he certainly didnt help himself by losing to michigan state 3 times in a year when they didnt even have nick ward.

 We’ll see. He has questionable foot speed to guard perimeter players in the nba and underwhelming overall athleticism. Pretty good skill set. Strong body, shoots it fairly well from the perimeter and moves well without the ball. Ball-handling and passing still need work. Probably could have benefited from another season in college imo. We’ll see if he can find a role and stick in the league, or if he’ll be one of those guys that just bounces around or winds up playing overseas. I could honestly see it going either way.

should have stayed in school and worked on the weaknesses in his game…leadership, ball handling, getting into better shape. Right now, he looks like a two way player at best, if not a guy who will play overseas.

 He was smart to leave. High level basketball players have a relatively short window of time to maximize their earnings; the earlier one can start, the better.

there no difference between 19 and 20 years old, but there’s a huge difference between 2nd round and first round.

Watched him handful of times this past year and he always stood out to me as one of the best players on the court, was surprised when I found out Hess freshman. I like his game although not sure about the lack of defense.
