OhCanada-ParticipantNot sure why everyone is going crazy about the Knicks not signing the big name free agents. They have said very clearly word for word they are in the middle of a rebuild and are looking to make oppurtunistic decisions this summer. All Ive heard from Steve Perry is rebuild, rebuild, rebuild. Knicks fans as a whole are just toxic and need something to complain about.
Julius Randle is an absolute steal. He is 25 and he averaged 21, 8 and 3 last year and they got him for less than the max. New York is finally making the smart moves and people are still freaking out.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThey got a ham sandwich and a probably pick in the 20s in 2021 for Porzingis. They don’t get to play the rebuilding card when what they wanted for Porzingis was cap space. To smugly act as though every player would jump at the chance to sign with the Knicks, and then come away with Julius Randle is a laughable loss. Frankly, I don’t get the hype around Randle, I think he is Enes Kanter with hops.

OhCanada-ParticipantThats funny because Enes Kanter said Zion Williamson is Julius Randle with hops.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThat is the joke, and it requires enough reality to make it work.

OhCanada-ParticipantKnicks are doing good right now. They are moving in the right direction.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantAt what point do you forgive them for completely botching the return for Porzingis? If you think that is in the past, and they had to go with what they had, then fine. I disagree. The trade for cap space was connected to what is happening right now.

OhCanada-ParticipantThere was no value for Porzingis. He got injured and demanded a trade. What else could they have done other than let him walk.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantNot prioritize cap space. We can’t go back and play out an alternative reality where the Knicks dangled Porzingis for players, but lets not act as though there would have been no interest.

Reptilian MonkParticipantWhen the Fan base got hyped that they were going to get Kd, Kyrie, and Zion and then the reality is Rj Barrett, Julius Randle, and Taj Gibson it is underwhelming, plus they traded Porzingis to create two max spaces that resulted in Randle and Gibson. They have some good young pieces but will be more years of hoping to get in the playoffs. When they thought Kd and Kyrie were coming to compete for championships.

r377ParticipantTHANK FVCK I don’t have to read another Durant and Irving going to the Knicks thread.
If we can just get over the Kawhi Leonard to Lakers daily thread I will be a happy man 🙂

cohenbc1ParticipantTaj Gibson was a weird addition, with Randle, Robinson and Knox in line for pretty much all the minutes at 4/5, you would think.

Here’s my current state of mind on the knicks…
“So deandre jordan signed with the nets for 10 mil per. Thats not a lot in todays nba market, did he fall off last year? And come to think of it, as much as Ive been following the free agent rumors, I really havent heard much about Jordan??? How did he do for the mavs last year? ***google search*** Deandre Jordan played for the new york knicks? I didnt know that. COme to think of it, I cant even name hardly any knicks…I know they got alonzo trier, I liked him at arizona. I know they got…holy shit, who even plays for the knicks?!?!?”
The knicks Are Irrelevant.

The GoatParticipantMassive failures here, they have now missed on all major targets and signed 3 power forwards with their space – Randle, Gibson and Portis. None can play the 3 or the 5, and all play the best position for Knox.
NY Knicks should stand for "Next Year" Knicks

True_JafiParticipantI don’t get why everyone is so mad. The knicks didnt promise Zion, Kyrie and KD. They made moves to try and aquire them but it doesn’t always work. They said they will build through draft and if they can land a big free agent then great. But NY media and fans run with everything and blow everything out of porportion and then blame the organization lol

LerinErinParticipantIf you can’t see that he is a large part of the problem and inability to sign FAs.
Players should be flocking to the Knicks, but Dolan ruins all of that.

MkadozaParticipantAs a Knicks fan I can firmly say.
FVK JAMES DOLAN.
That is all. Clown running a lucrative circus. I’m sick. I’m depressed. Imagine having a team that youve rooted for through every failure, and no successes, continue to botch everything. 73, the last championship. Heading towards 50 years. Does any NBA franchise continuesly disappoint year in and year out?
To the non Knicks fans, Yuck it up. Laugh in our collectively loser faces. Enjoy the abject dumpster fire that is my franchise. I cried last night, laugh at that too. I love this team, and nothing else in my LIFE has hurt me like the Knicks have.
Ive never been more hopeless. The absolute lack of try in this franchise …..
I just hope the young players develop. See you next lottery.

celtics1982ParticipantI like the Randle signing, but Portis, Gibson, Ellington, Bullock, and Payton make very little sense.

r377ParticipantWhat would sting the most is that De Andre Jordan is friends and teamed up with Kyrie and Durant. They even sacraficed their salary to sign him. The fact that Jordan was at the Knicks last season is the main stinger. If the Knicks franchise was any good, Jordan should have been recruiting Durant and Kyrie to come to New York – instead Jordan got the "Knicks experience" and bolted off to Brooklyn with Durant and Kyrie.
