So with KG announcing he’ll come back for 3 more years and Avery Bradley coming back healthy….What do you think the Celtics chances are at competing for a championship next year? Can they still make another run? I think they addressed their biggest need (size) in the NBA draft.

Also, will Ray be persuaded to stay now that KG signed? Or will he head to Miami?

Not a cetics fan but barring a complete meltdown they are as dangerous as anyone. Rebounding was a problem last year and they went out and drafted sulinger and melo. I know a lot of people don’t like melo but mind you all that they played ryan hollins in the playoffs last year. They will monitor KGs and pierces minutes. Joesph not a bad pickup in the draft either.Plus there is a rumor going around that Allen may come back or that they will pursue OJ mayo. Bradley will be  healthy.  And they may get Jeff green back who if he plays like he played with the thunder would be a nice bonus.

Future draft picks are included in trades so much that it’s almost surprising when at least one isn’t involved in a deal. They’re valuable assets that can help make or break potential trades, but they can also make trades that appeared to be lopsided turn out to be absolute steals for the other team if they draft the right player.

Second-year forward Trey Thompkins suffered a bone bruise in his left knee during summer league in Las Vegas. He noted that he’s close to a return but will skip the team’s trip to China. Billups will also stay in Los Angeles to continue rehab.

After leading the Cavs in the first two games, C.J. Miles was all over the place. He made a couple turnovers and missed some defensive assignments. Still, he was far from horrible. With rookie guard Doron Lamb and forward Luc Mbah a Moute already sidelined during training camp with injuries, the Milwaukee Bucks took another hit to their depth this week, as forward/center Ekpe Udoh has been unable to practice since Tuesday’s preseason game against Cleveland.

Udoh sustained the left knee sprain when he was attempting to block a shot from Cleveland’s Jon Leuer on Tuesday night. As his left knee came down, Udoh said it didn’t feel right. It’s an injury Bucks coach Scott Skiles said will keep Udoh out anywhere from 10 days to two weeks.

“It feels good (to play power forward),” Varejao said. “But to me it is kind of the same playing power forward or center, so whatever coach needs and whatever he wants me to do, I will do it.”

If he can stay healthy, Gordon is a proven scorer that has the ability to make life easier for this Hornets squad as whole. Knowing that his head, and heart, are back in New Orleans is huge for the franchise moving forward.

What We Learned From the Preseason: There’s a lot of promise here, but this isn’t the season we’re going to see it all come together for the Pistons. Not yet. Greg Monroe is likely going to have a monster year, Brandon Knight looks sharp heading into his sophomore season and Rodney Stuckey is going to score a lot of points, just not efficiently. But perhaps the most interesting story of the preseason for the Pistons was Andre Drummond, who looked downright awesome at times. He won’t be consistently good this season, but at least he looks to be as good as advertised.

What We Learned From the Preseason: Brook Lopez looks way, way better than any of us thought he was going to look. After seeing his rebounding numbers drop the last couple of seasons, Lopez averaged 10 rebounds per 36 minutes in the preseason, and is just as effective scoring the ball as he was before last season’s unending string of injuries. Between him, the always-excellent Deron Williams, and a bench featuring Mirza Teletovic and Andray Blatche that’s way better than anyone thought, things are looking much better in Brooklyn than they are in, say, Manhattan.
