SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantMy sources are telling me it’s a done deal. Kawhi to the L.A. Lakers. Nothing else is in play. I’m being told it’s a 100% done deal. Neg me if you want. But it’s a done deal.

TravelinTravParticipantKinda surprised he’s going to the lakers. (It’s almost like cheating) Would this be the best big 3 of all time?

xJumpManxParticipantBut would you bet money AD stays injury free. Seems like every other game he gets hurt.

MopgrassParticipantLeBron, AD, and Kawhi is like putting all the high school kids on one team and then celebrating when they beat the middle school team. That’s not competition. And I’m a Laker fan. This is getting annoying.

Arc12345ParticipantYeah like Durant…oh wait…nevermind…GS signed him the year before.
Yeah KD won finals MVP while he was with GS – but let’s not act like KD and Kawhi aren’t the same caliber of players.

Scrooge McDuckParticipantSuper teams built like this are rarely successful. It’s funny because it’s been tried by the Lakers twice since 2000. Davis is injury prone and James is aging. You could argue Boston, but Rondo and Pierce had been there for years. Miami had Wade. This is going to be an epic failure and i’m already laughing.

Arc12345ParticipantLike you said Boston was successful. Miami and Golden State were also very successful and could’ve won more.
You can try to compare them to the 2000 Lakers but it’s a different situation. You’re just hating. Super teams are usually successful – hence why everyone hates them.

The GoatParticipantSurely you are just setting yourself up to fail if you are one of these players. If you win, everyone says so what, you should have, and if you lose, you get roasted.
The Lakers organisation tho, they have to sign Kawhi if they can. As a franchise, your objective is to make money – big names big money. The tickets, merch, tv coverage, media exposure.. plus you have a great chance to win.

220ParticipantI honestly can’t figure Kawhi Leonard out so him going to the Lakers makes as much sense as anything else we’ve seen from him. A team with Lebron, AD, and Kawhi would be absolutely insane though…as long as they stay healthy.

OhCanada-ParticipantYeah. After that Wizards deal I was already starting to get worried. Oh well. Its a move he will regret making.

HitsterParticipantI wouldn’t say that this big 3 is better than the Miami big 3. I’d give it an edge on the Celtics big 3.
LBJ of 2019 isn’t quite the same as LBJ of say 2011 or 12. AD has edge on Bosh but isn’t as durable as Chris was. D-Wade and Kawhi stack up fairly equally but Miami I have to give edge to as it was a younger LBJ and they had a solid support cast which Lakers have to create.
