The PED rules in the NBA are crap. 25 games is complete rubbish, The league should get with the times…. 4 years is the accepted worldwide ban for PEDs.
There is a generally accepted view that once you take PEDs, you reach a new level of performance you would never have reached even when you stop (classic case Justin Gatlin) I personally think a life ban for any positive test. That would at least be a decent deterrent.
This will not deter anyone from cheating

Seems like the NBA is cracking down on PED’s this year. This is good. I dont think everyone in the NBA is using illegal substances like how the MLB was in the Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire era. I used to think “who cares if someone wants to use let them” but as I’ve matured I understand it is unfair to the people who do not want to use. If people are using then it creates an unfair advantage which then means that everyone is going to have to follow suit or risk losing their position. Role players will end up out of the league, stars will end up role players etc. It also creates an environment where the entire leagues health is at risk.
Poor John Collins though. Guy was using illegal substances and he was still getting pushed around playing Center this year haha.

Also, his defence is rubbish too. The ‘but I took a supplement, which unbeknownst to me, had been contaminated with an illegal component.’ line is complete BS. HGH peptide 2 is only available as an injectable form. Since when does one unknowingly get injected with an unknown substance….

Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2 – from what i have read is more for increasing the appetite than the traditional “steroid” or HGH which leads to muscle growth etc which would of lead to a more serious suspension.

They do testing on children meaning its more of an appetite increasing agent, rather then a traditional PED

GHRP 2 actually binds and stimulates Growth Hormone release. It is used because detection is harder. Same stuff. Same idea of getting improved strength and healing. Same cheating as steroids and other PEDs.

Both him and Ayton getting done within a couple of weeks of each other is either a mighty coincidence or the NBA are cracking down. Tyreke Evans was banned earlier in the year too. But Collins and Ayton are only at the beginning of their careers so it will be interesting to see what their respective teams do.

If Bol Bol suddenly appears on court with a Zion type build then he may need to be tested too.
