Rather than shack up in the poor living conditions found in the Olympic Village, the United States men’s basketball team is staying on a luxury cruise ship. To most of us, that sounds like the absolute best way to stay at the Olympics. Unfortunately for Jimmy Butler, this may be one of the worst.

“Jimmy Butler doesn’t like water,” DeAndre Jordan said to Chris Chavez of SI.com. “So we were talking about, ‘Would you jump off the boat or would you get in?’ [He says,] ‘No and don’t play with me about it.’ He definitely does not like the water at all.”

A fear of water is not unheard of, and cruise ships are not for everybody. This was, however, the best the United States could do for accommodations for the men’s and women’s basketball teams in Rio, so the Chicago Bulls star has little choice but to deal with it. While most star athletes would expect to get a room with a stellar view, Butler seems more than willing to take a room on the inside of the boat without a window to see the scenery.

“(Jimmy) don’t want to be near the water,” Draymond Green said, according to SI.com. “He doesn’t want his room facing the water. Nothing. It’s incredible to me.”

If Butler wants to switch room assignments with any of the Olympic athletes in the Olympic Village, I’m sure he would not have a problem finding someone to swap with considering the conditions of the rooms in the Olympic village in Rio.
