armchairgmParticipantIsaiah Todd recently has been cancelling all his workouts with teams that have late 1st rounders as it is thought he has a promise from a team in the lottery.

OhCanada-ParticipantMaybe I saw a different report but it says he is only targeting workouts in the lottery and avoiding any in the late lottery. I’d assume this means he has a promise in the 1st that he really likes. Wonder who it could be. I’m thinking its Washington.

armchairgmParticipantI am thinking the Thunder or Washington.

OhCanada-ParticipantSo what do we have for promises? Todd mid 1st probably Washington since that was his last workout. Jackson to OKC per Chad Ford. Mcbride to the Knicks since he shutdown workouts after that.

bt102ParticipantI mean…there’s always a possibility he got the promise later after a workout. I really don’t like that Todd to Washington fit.

bt102ParticipantThere’s also one more potential promise

Franz Wagner to the Kings. I’d still take this with a grain of salt. Not a verified user but this could have very well happened. McNair is a very analytically minded player. Wagner checks out big time there.

BothTeamsPlayedHard-Participant“Isaiah Todd is canceling workouts with late 1st round teams such as the Jazz and focusing on lottery teams.”
That is not a statement equaling a promise. I read it as a calculated risk where a guy and his agent feel him going to a rebuilding team is preferable to a contender where the player would likely spend time in the G-League. I have mentioned this before, but the 2nd round picks are held by a smaller number of teams than I can remember. Detroit has 2, Toronto 2, OKC 3, New Orleans 4, Charlotte 2, and Indiana 2. Tack on one for Orlando and San Antonio and you have more than half the picks in the 2nd round.

BothTeamsPlayedHard-ParticipantTodd is working out for the Lakers, so the “focusing on lottery teams” might be loosely defined.

OhCanada-ParticipantI feel like making a promise in this draft is a bad idea. What reason would the Kings have to give Wagner a promise? I mean would they be scared the Magic would take him 8th?What if by some miracle Suggs dropped to 9 and they have this promise out to Wagner… I just don’t believe it.
It is a good fit though.
