Buddy Hield-Yes, I would re-sign him..good shooter and it’s the Kings..no one is breaking down the door to play for them. 

Pascal Siakim-Avg 25 pts in the finals last year, I would. I think the Raptors sign him. 

Jaylen Brown-I would let him test the market, not sure if he’s worth the max. Kemba, Hayward has the max and then Tatum comes up next year. Can you have 4 players on the max?

Domanta Sabonis-I like his game, I don’t like him next to Myles Turner…what should the Pacers do? I would trade one of them. 

Brandon Ingram-Pelicans got money, doubt they get a big FA in the next year or two, they’ll re-sign him..I think he’s a good gamble.

I’d be dangling Brown for a C & be looking to trade Sabonis more than Turner for a stretch-4.

Hield- re-sign, it’s hard to attract talent to Sacremento and you get him for the entirety of his prime, now that we know he’s 27 (for now).

Siakam- re-sign for the full five years, you might be able to get a slight discount but I’d rather lock him down. The Lowry extension decreases their cap space a bit but next year’s free agent class isn’t worth investing too much in.

Brown- wouldn’t pay more than 4/$90m for him, I like Marcus Smart and they already have a developmental wing in waiting with Langford. Could be traded for an improvement at the 5.

Sabonis- trade him. The Pacers invested a lot in offense this offseason, so they need to keep Turner, and neither is optimized playing together. They should try and find a Jerami Grant-type at the 4.

Ingram- trade him. He’s a bad fit with Zion, and his stock could be boosted if they play at a fast tempo. They should look for a Mikal Bridges-type at the 3 and maybe some future draft capital.

For the most part, I think teams would be wise to wait until they see how the China situation plays out. If the league revenues from China dries up, it changes the cap and market for players. Even if it is only a small chance that all business with China zeros out, it is worth waiting on guys who will only be restricted free agents.

Agree pretty much with the consensus on the thread so far.

Here’s a simple solution for the question marks. Trade Brown for Sabonis (salary filler on each side) JB can slide back to his natural 3 spot in Indy, move Warren to the 4. Sabonis gives Boston a big who can rebound, make plays as a passer, and score inside + with an improving jumpshot. Stevens can use him similar to how they used Horford on offense

 Are they all asking for the max? Siakam’s the only one who’s earned it. But sometimes you’ve got to give the max to players who aren’t worth it just to maintain some continuity and build a team that’s a destination for future free agents.

 Buddy hield…Depends on who they value more Bogdan or Buddy. If Bogdan is the true keeper you trade him for an asset so you don’t have to pay him. If its Buddy’s your guy you don’t max him I would maybe give him a 4 year deal somewhere in the 50-75 mill range not a dime more..Especially due to age and if the salary cap maybe decreasing due to issues with China(See issues due to GM tweets etc).

Jaylen Brown is a hard one. Due to a small market new F.A I could see a random team like Memphis throwing the bag at the guy to pair with young core of Ja,Jaren and most likely another top 5 pick…So boston has to think long and hard about keeping him + trying to get a deal done on a reasonable price or moving one of Hayward or Brown for another need/similar level player at least(see above mentioned beal deal)…

If they do try keep him they have two options a make good deal if he improves/hits goals set verbally promised at start of the season and signed at end of season(like Butler did to the Bull offered 60 something got a max at end of the season) or Try lock him up at a discount(less than max deal). 

Sabonis is a hard call I personally don’t think he is that mobile and has limited wingspan so I would hesitate if he wanted a big deal..Especially after getting T.J warren from the suns..But if he wanted a reasonable deal say 4 years 12-16 mill per and was willing to be your 6th man you could live with that sort of deal.

Sikam is a hard call do you pay him for what he has done(been a valued contrbutor on title team) or what he will be? If its for what he will be I only give him 4 years not a 5 year deal as you don’t know what team will look like in say 2 years. The numbers though is hard. He is MIP,A NBA Champ, a Reasonable age and was on a dirt cheap deal to start with…I would be reluctatnt to go more than 4 years 80 mill at most and 4 years 66 mill at lowest..I would only give him a max if it had caviates(like  1st or 2nd All Nba team etc in Contract).

Ingram I would do a make good deal Same as Brown their could be a random team that would max him out of he stays healthy…So if he hits goals(x amount of game/stays healthy etc) I would then talk a deal at end of the season in the ball park of say 60-80 mill at most with healthy protections due possible clot issues..I wouln’t max him on this deal at least….

Kris Dunn-If Bulls want him I see them lowballing Dunn now and seeing if he takes it and deciding by deadline if they will either keep him or trade him..Especially after taking Colby so high…

 I really like Jaylen Brown but I’d be trying to swap him for Myles Turner while the Pacers are high on Sabonis. Just too many wing players in Boston. If Hayward really is capable of returning to all star form, it makes more sense to have Turner.

 I’d get a deal on the table for Hield as he turns 27 soon and his people may be very receptive to getting him a lucrative extension. Plus if he kicks on this season his value could go up steeply.

I wouldn’t offer Ingram an extension if I’m the pels. They are committed to building around Zion and frankly I don’t think ingrams game will mesh particularly well with Zions. As a matter of fact, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him get moved again during the season.  

Even if the raptors offer an extension, it will likely be much less than what Siakim could potentially earn in free agency next summer. So he probably will gamble on himself and wait.

Kings have already offered bogdonovich an extension so my guess is that they will wait on hield. They have a lot of young players who will be coming up for extensions in the next few seasons and will need to decide who they are going to prioritize. Part of the reason why re-signing Barnes to such a long-term deal was such a head-scratcher to me. 

Pacers are going to see how playing Sabonis and Turner together works this season. Since they have already locked up Turner, they are probably going to wait with sabonis. 

Ainge hasn’t historically offered extensions to guys on their rookie deals and I don’t think brown will be an exception, especially after he stagnated last season. The Celtics probably gamble and keep their options open with him.
