What are peoples thoughts on this trade:

    Miami receives: Russell Westbrook.

OKC receives:Goran Dragic,Tyler Herro,Justise Winslow and Bam adebayo and rights to swap a picks x 2 when we both have picks(like we have with clippers).

Miami gets the second star to pair with Butler.

OKC then Parlays Dragic for a first rounder to whatever team they can.

The main keeping pieces are Tyler herro-Possible future starting SG(ala Booker Mould),Justise Winslow our potential starting SF and Bam who may make Adams available for another asset or allow Noel to choose to resign else where if he can still do this..

Don’t get me wrong it probably isn’t in our best interest to trade with Miami due to having their picks, but if Russell wants to go there Presti will probably do him 1 last solid for all his hard work.

The biggest problem trading Russ at this point in the offseason beside the very limited cap situation of teams is the idea to trade him to a contending situation or at least one better then what OKC still has to offer. While PG obviously left a giant hole on our wing, they finally now have very decent stretch 4 in Gallo who is coming of a career year and the roster pre Grant trade was still decent and should be in the playoff race. As you said the fact we already own two of the Miami picks makes matters worse if we help the heat build a contender there.

While many are very high on Herro, I think there is just no need to trade for Dragic who is still to good to tank and I don’t really know if this a tank move or not. It’s a really difficult situation for our team right now since the cap situation is kind of terrible around the league. while there is the possibility of trying to contend somehow even without Russ in the west and still have the chance to add talent via the picks from Mia and Lac this would be a so so route and not really Presti like. I don’t think Winslow will move the needle for any team since he is no PF and no SF and just to trade Russ in a good situation to do him a favor is nothing we should do if we don’t like the pieces coming to us.

I still toy with the idea about Russ to Chicago for Lauri Markkanen and Otto Porter. Russ and LaVine along with WCJr and Coby White should be exciting. Don’t know if this is a contending team in the east but Porter and his 2 years left are okay since he is still a good player, just overpaid and Lauri is a future All Star to me. This at least would be a decent return imo and picks could be added in both ways if needed to get this done.

To answer your question I don’t like the Miami trade since the pieces don’t really scream good return aside from cap relief in Dragic but as we all know this whole situation is very complex and I wouldn’t be surprised if Russ is still on the Thunder beginning the new season but who knows what will happen til then.

I don’t think Miami has the assets trade for Russ..they don’t have the draft picks. I rather see Russ in Det. He fits that city.

Do not do that to Poor Russ. Love his game hate to see him sent to a Purgatory like Detroit.

I read that Miami can’t trade for Westbrook unless They involve a 3rd team. Maybe Dallas (which is the only team with over 10 million in cap space). Cleveland can use Jr’s partial guaranteed contract as part of any deal. Personally I would love it if the Knicks can someway get involved. Westbrook’s Knicks vs Durant’s Nets , would bring so much excitement when they play.

OKC doesn’t have a lot of roster spots open so I think a deal looks more like Dragic, James Johnson, and assortment of picks for Westbrook.

As much as I’d love getting Herro and Bam, I feel like it’d be an uphill battle to get just Herro

Heat still havent signed Herro which means they are likely dangling him around. If they sign him they cant trade him for another 30 days. I thought it was 3 months but its 30 days for players that were recently drafted and 3 months for players that were recently signed as Free Agents.

Thunder should just pull the trigger and trade Westbrook for Herro, match salary and draft picks. Theyve already gutted the roster and they wont get anything more for Westbrook if he gets another injury, shows more aging or doesnt get OKC to the playoffs.

Nevermind. They just signed him. Westbrooks value is really low.

Isahia Thomas, if still running the knicks, would give 10 years of unprotected 1st round picks.
