Sixers fan, last night hurt like hell and I almost wanted to start a vent thread. Biggest take away for me though as a fan is that, while painful that series was a blast. I want to see the east stay competitive and strong and I dont want to ever see my team have to cruise through an easy path just to become champions. 

That Toronto team is beastly on defense and something really just feels different with Kawhi there this year. I was big on Kawhi going to the Clippers but at this point I want nothing more than to see him run it back up north. Fun team to watch and I hope it works out for them the same way the PG trade worked for OKC. I’m still pulling for the Bucks now but best of luck to the Raptors in the next two rounds

unless kawhi fell in love with the city, i think this will be a hard sell.  the contracts committed to gasol, ibaka, powell, van fleet and lowry will make things real tough for kawhi to get some help.  i respect that he wants to be outright leader of a team but he needs some support to suceed in the playoffs. 

LAC has to be the ideal situation for him.  harrell, sweet lou, gallo, SGA, shamet and j-rob give this team a mix of young talent and vets that would help kawhi succeed.  add in all the cap space and they have a lot of roster flexiblity to build small ball/big lineups with input from kawhi.  then throw in a great coach like doc rivers.   it’s going to be hard for me to envision kawhi in any other jersey than LAC.

As a Sixers fan I said Kawhi should stay in Toronto…until that shot bounced in last night. He needs to go to the West….I will be having nightmares of him hitting crazy shots all summer.

Siakam is better than anyone on the Clippers. The Clippers have more young talent and cap space…but Toronto has proven players. Hopefully it comes down to LA>Toronto as far as his preference of cities to live in.

 Siakam still has so much room for improvement its ridiculous. His mid range game, shot release versatility, pull up game all are non existant at this point. I’ve been trying to explain this to people all season. 

On the other hand Simmons is a rare breed seriously needs to stop getting all this critisism. He ends up gaurding Siakam and Leonard all series and he had a big part in taking Siakam’s hot streak away while making it difficult for Kawhi.

agree 100 on simmons.  you won’t find his versatility very easily.  yesterday, brown actually used him in post a lot more where he is much better suited on offense.  simmons also got to be more aggressive.  had a couple times when lowry was on him and he passed out for an open 3 when he had a big size advantage in the post. 

defensively though…simmons is an unbelievable asset.  brown needs to get a better gameplan for him offensively IMO or he’ll always be criticized on that end.

 Not sure why this was negged. If you watched the series countless times guys like Butler, Ben and Harris all had Lowry in the post and didn’t get a shot off. Sure they were doubled sometimes as well but he holds his ground well. Lowry is much better on defense than on offense.

 This is Toronto’s chance. The guys that they would want to be rid of soon (in the next 3 years) are guys they need now to win. I think he might do a short deal (one year) if they make the finals and lose, but if they  either win it all or they get knocked by the Bucks I think he’s gone.

 I would love for my Jazz to get him, but if that miracle doesnt happen.  Him staying in Toronto would be cool.  The took a huge gamble on selling him on Toronto, would live to see it pay off.

Its because people remember their home teams PG blowing by Lowry uncontested.

 Theres some things he does great on defence but other things that make him look like a terrible defender. He allows dribble penetration way too easy against quick or athletic gaurds but against a team like Philly where he is either gaurding Simmons or Reddick most of the time and then Harris and Butler keep trying to post him up he looks like an all defensive player.

He is one of the best at taking charges in the NBA, probably the best post defending gaurd along with Marcus Smart and comes up with big off the ball screens but one on one he cant gaurd guys. Magic exploited this in game 1, 76ers had noone to exploit this.

His matchup with Bledsoe and Hill will be tough. Say what you want about Bledsoe but this is a guy that is not shy and will drive to the rim every single time and never get tired. Lowry will likely let him go to the rim or get into foul trouble unless he steps up his perimeter D.
