As we all know, the lottery is set for Tuesday evening. It is the first year with the new lottery odds and we have that true "superstar" player at the top that even low-key basketball fans are aware of…

That being said, I am curious what people think about the potential outcomes and where guys are likely to go based on those results. While I feel Zion is a100% lock at #1, the results could effect the order of the next few picks pretty drastically and could be huge shifts for the NBA in general.

So, from an entertainment perspective/how it effects the league – how do you want the lottery to go? This goes beyond just wanting to see your team get Zion, or simply "move up" to the top 3, perhaps its the hope that Zion goes to the best situation – same for Morant or Barrett.

Here are some of my thoughts:

The #1 Pick goes to New York.
I am not a Knicks fan, but from a pure entertainment perspective, having Zion in New York along with the better than 0 chance of adding Kyrie, KD or another All-Star level player sure would be entertaining if nothing else. I personally think the "fit" would work best in Atlanta and Id love to see him with my Bulls, but sheer entertainment award goes to NYC.

#1 Pick goes to Phoenix
There is an entertainment level here because this may be about the only team that could give some thought to Morant over Zion – from a team building and roster construction standpoint, Morant makes more sense (on paper) – would the Suns really have the guts to make that pick? If they dont, what moves do they make? This would make for some great discussion heading up to the draft – if the Suns settle on Morant, what type of trade could they get to move down a spot to whoever gets #2?

#1 Pick goes to Lakers
Ill be frank, my head might explode in sheer, unadulterated anger if this happens – but a Zion + LBJ + Cap sure would put the Lakers on the fast track to rebuild. Would be curious how LBJ handles this next portion of his career while welcoming the next "it" guy in Zion.

#1 Pick goes to Cleveland
This is likely the scenario that would make me the most "sad" mainly because Cleveland is just a dumpster fire location, they have already had the #1 pick multiple times already in the pretty recent history so I am over that. I dont have much to say here other than this may be the worst case scenario from an entertainment perspective.

Bulls go to #3
While I would love to see the Bulls get #1, I am at this point hoping for either that big win to move all the way up or land at #3 as I do not want Ja Morant (a longer post I wont make here). I would be thrilled to move up the one spot and get RJ Barrett (while entertaining the idea of Culver, Reddish etc.)

 As a Lakers fan #1 pick to Lakers don’t care about rest.  If Lakers don’t get #1 of course hope they move up to top 3.

 LeBron/Zion would be nuts. Best place for Zion and best for the league.  

Not sure how to build a title team around Zion since I think he is best used as a center in a pick/roll, fast breaking game.  

Otherwise Zion is just another Elgin Baylor, Gus Johnson, Charles Barkley, or Prime Larry Johnson.

Although I think you get about 5 years of Dream Team Chuck out of Zion Williamson. One of the best/most fun "peaks" EVER.

 For entertainment purposes, Luka/Zion or Trae/Zion would be hard to stop.  Sexton/Zion would be super fun too. 

Although a Grizzlies front line of Zion, Jaren, and Jonas Valanciunas could be deadly.

 For entertainment, absolutely no question – Kings win the #1 and it conveys to Philly. The tears and butthurt out there would be unbelievable.

I think the Knicks are the best blank sleight for Zion. It’s hard to imagine his fit on most teams. He’ll be good no matter what, but teams like Atlanta are really trying to spread the floor with their young guys (Trae, Huerter). I’d kind of like to see Zion on The Wolves. I don’t like Minny, but I feel like they need a kick in the pants (of energy) and Zion is exactly that.

 Atlanta or Dallas would be the best fit for Zion. New YOrk wouldnt be too bad either since they have their youth movement going on.

Come on be realistic. Lakers would trade Zion immediatey.

 I have a feeling that the ping pong balls will reward teams that tried to win this season, so I want Grizzlies, Hawks and NO to be on the top 3.

 Its New York, and its not even close. Since the Knicks last made a conference finals in 2000, only six other franchises have failed to do so as well: Wizards, Blazers, Pelicans, Hornets, Clippers and Grizzles. And most of those teams had a modicum of success. Biggest of all, everyone of those teams have had a true franchise player. Elton Brand with the Clips, Gasol and Conley with the Grizz, AD with the Pels, Kemba with the Hornets, Wall with the Wiz, and now the current Blazers with Dame. All of those players have meant more to their franchise than ANY player NY has had ini the last 20 years. As good as Carmelo was, he was not a true face of the franchise. 

There are 10s of millions of Knicks fans DYING for something to believe in. A year and a half of Kristaps doesnt count either. Zion in Mecca for resurrection. (Just the gravitas of the connotation gives me goosebumps).

 I want Charlotte to get the No. 1 pick.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a Charlotte fan in any way. shape form or fashion. I think they’ve jacked up the draft just about every year, have failed to develop really anyone of note over the past decade, and while I love MJ, I recognize he’s been a miserable exec.

However … I respect the crap out of the fact Charlotte has not yet just throw in the towell and gone full tank. Really to their own detriment. You would have a hard time arguing they are any better off right now going, roughly, .500 every year than they would be if they just fielded a WNBA team and went 0-82 a couple times.

So, as someone who appreciates a team giving an honest effort, I’d like to see that pay off in their favor. What better year for that to happen.

I’d personally love to see Zion in ATL with Trae, Collins & co. They’re going to have big $ to play with next summer too when Baze & Plumlee expire and everyone else is on rookie deals. But they’d be a good fit for RJ too.

 1. Hawks-They get Zion to pair with Trae and Collins..I live in Atlanta, I’m bias.

 From an entertainment standpoint, I actually think Dallas getting the top pick would be absolutely fascinating. They have a 6 percent chance. Zinger’s game would complement Zion nicely, as would Luka’s. Mark Cuban, like him or not, seems to have a knack for landing on his feet. Those three guys would generate a ton of buzz, and would be more fun than Zion being banished to the desert of Phoenix or the sorry franchise that the Bulls or Hornets have become.
