Due to the fact that his teams were nowhere as complete as these other players listed. Shaq and Kobe carried those teams more than any combination I believe in NBA history. Kobe averaged 25.4 ppg over those three regular seasons and 25.3 ppg in the play-offs while Shaq averaged 28.6 ppg and 29.9 ppg. I think that Shaq and Kobe honestly were the most relied upon scoring duo in the history of NBA Title winners.

In 2000-01, they combined to average 59.8 ppg in the play-offs (30.4 Shaq, 29.4 Kobe). I think this prowess is the reason Kobe is seen as being a greater second option than nearly any player beyond possibly Magic Johnson/Kareem Abdul-Jabbar during their 5 titles. I think it was a distinct possibility that the Lakers during those last two titles had the two best players in the NBA, don’t think you could ever say that about any other team in NBA history.

On paper, it’s difficult to argue against the Warriors making the playoffs for just the second time in the last 20 years.

Not to keep riding this wild train, but it was a great bounce-back performance for Waiters. A lot of fans doubted him after a miserable showing against Milwaukee. But he was the main reason the Cavs were able to fend off a colossal meltdown against the Bulls.

“Goran’s dribble penetration had a lot to do with that,” Gentry said. “And I think our spacing was a lot better than it was the day before in Sacramento.”

Morris, looking very much like a player who put in work during the off-season, led the Suns with 14 points. Markieff also collected four quick fouls in the first half, looking very much like the player from last season on the defensive end.

“What I don’t like about him is the man that he is. His personality. How he treats people. I don’t like that side of Kobe Bryant.”

Parker seemed most offended in two areas. He believed it was unfair for Bryant to criticize him about his play when he averaged 11.5 points and 3.7 assists a game and finished ninth in the NBA with 140 steals during the 2005-06 season. The following season, Parker posted similar numbers in points (11.1) and assists (2.8).

Johnson took advantage of Blazer defensive help and slow recovery in bagging 4 of 7 shots – including 3 of 4 from behind the arc – to contribute a dozen points off the bench in his Phoenix debut.

Coach Scott still isn’t ready to announce a starting lineup for Tuesday that includes Varejao and Zeller, but it appears to be a pairing he is committed to and it is one that makes a lot of sense for the Cavaliers. On a team with so few veterans, Scott needs Varejao to be the stabilizing influence for his young big men and that means Varejao will be playing both power forward and center for the Cavaliers this season.

However, in the NBA it is often said that one team’s trash is another team’s treasure. Two days after he was released by the Spurs, New York Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald signed Novak off the waiver wire. It was Novak’s fifth NBA team since being selected in the second round of the 2006 NBA Draft.,mgmjghjhg

When Novak became a free agent this past summer, the Knicks organization was determined to keep him in NYC. The Knicks were able to exceed the salary cap to re-sign Novak only after a surprising court ruling that led to a settlement between the NBA and the players’ union, which gave players claimed off waivers their “Early Bird rights.”l;jlkjhkl

if he can find his rookie shooting form. Add in the return of three-point shooting wing Alan Anderson and the likelihood of sharpshooter Jose Calderon finding additional minutes in a two point guard lineup, and Ross’ opportunities to use his skill were under threat from day one. This Raptors’ training camp and preseason has been very competitive.
